UPDATED: SAUDI CUSTER TO THE RESCUE: “HELPING” THE HARMFUL IDIOTS IN IRAQ

a new and qualitatively much better third draft. I highly recommend you ignore the first and second.

updated: 11/1/06

I was right when I had speculated in an earlier article, “Saudi Arabia in Iraq,” that the Saudis were increasingly pumping political money into Iraq.

I had speculated that Saudi Arabia was using the Hay’at al-Ulama al-Muslimeen (The Organization of Islamic [Sunni] Scholars) (O.I.S.) as conduit for co-opting Sunni resistance groups in Iraq. In mid-October, King Abdallah met with a delegation of the Ulamas, one indication that political money is flowing to that group. The delegation was headed by Sheikh Harith al-Dhari.

Will this help U.S. troops?

The answer: No.

(Update: On or about October 29, armed men assassinated Issam al-Rawi, member of the OIS. The start of the Iran-Saudi war by proxy in Iraq?)

THE LESSON OF LEBANON--ALWAYS LEBANON

To an analyst, visits to oil-rich countries by politicians are indication that these likely are receiving money from these countries. I learned that a long time ago, writing my dissertation, when I had looked at the visits by Lebanese and Palestinian politicians to oil-rich countries. Too, I looked at the events and statements which had transpired after these visits.

Kamal Jumblatt had headed a number of times to oil-rich Libya. Libya must’ve obliged. As a consequence, the harmful idiots lost control of the Lebanese army. The Muslim officers went AWOL as they were able to secure an extra paycheck, courtesy of Mr. Jumblatt and the PLO. Some lent their services to the PLO-left-nationalist alliance. As a result, that civil war, engineered by the harmful idiots and their Lebanese agents so that the Israelis would dodge the formation of a viable Palestinian state, spiraled out of control and into a yet higher level of savagery.

Lebanon, which per capita income once had equaled that of oil-rich Kuwait, fell into civil, economic, and political chaos.

Nothing the harmful idiots touch does not bring misery to people and countries--once the foreign, but now the American. Those poor Iraqis--they didn't stand a chance, once the harmful idiots became interested in their oil. Not to mention the Palestinians.

And children of south Lebanon! These will be playing in fields full of cluster bombs covered by mud from recent rains, and uranium-tainted soil, courtesy of the harmful idiots’ agent in its barbaric assault on Lebanon’s civilians.

(Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah of Hezbollah recently revealed that the Israelis had waged their assault with the knowledge and approval of the Seniora/Hariri government--asset of the Saudis and the harmful idiots. He said that a representative(s) of this asset had contacted Hezbollah during the assault and had threatened that the Israeli assault would continue until Hezbollah disarmed and accepted multinational troops in the country--all over, not only in the south. Israel's defeat, of course, corrected the Seniora/Hariri vision, as it did the Saudi. The Saudi ambassador to Lebanon recently had a four-hour meeting with Nasrallah.)

Back to the harmful idiots' policies in one country they once controlled, Lebanon. I do this to shed light on the future harm the idiots will inflict on Iraq, if ever they gain control of it. In Lebanon, after seeing to its devastation, thanks to their mediocrity, the harmful idiots coronated one of their “assets” as President of the country. Droves of Lebanese economic hit men, “working” for the World Bank, agents of the harmful idiots, streamed into the Presidential Palace. These economic hit men did their thing: Lebanon started a process of buying weapons it could and would never use, and borrowing money to do that. The harmful idiots’ President-agent amassed a sizeable national debt ($800 million, I believe) for a country which, even after years of war, still was relatively affluent. (Did he himself make a fortune?)

Un-phased by their continued failure, and having so many “assets” on the payroll who did not give a hoot about the future of their country, the harmful idiots dispatched yet another “asset” from Saudi Arabia to become Prime Minister. This one imported into Lebanon the Saudi method of governance: In Lebanon, it’s said that he accumulated an estimated personal fortune of $15-17 billion, while sinking Lebanon into debt to the tune of nearly $40 billion. (Again, some day I’ll review Najah Wakim’s writings on the subject.) The Saudi royals had not told him to take it easy; that Lebanon was not Saudi Arabia--that it didn’t have the oil revenues of that country.

Imagine what the harmful idiots will do if they control Iraq. Lebanon's $40 billion national debt would look like pittance compared to the Grand Theft their corrupt assets would inflict on oil-rich Iraq.

The lesson to foreigners: If you’re supremely dishonest, do become assets of the harmful idiots and nothing you will do will be questioned, since so many of those to whom you will account for your Grand Theft around the globe are themselves on the harmful idiots’ payroll. You’ll be rich; fat, with a belly to end all bellies. You’ll burp and fart to the hearing of all the commoners.

The harmful idiots have a knack for accepting anyone and everyone as asset; they champion corruption wherever they see a potential.

THE ARMIES OF ARAB IRAQ

To understand Saudi Arabia’s "assistance" to the harmful idiots in Iraq, one needs to come to terms with the shape, raw, of that country’s politico-military forces. Here it is:

In Arab Iraq, there are three main armies:

(1) The American Army. It includes the troops, the Pentagon’s motley of global mercenaries, and the Iraqi ancillaries. These ancillaries are brigades which respond to orders by U.S. commanders--mercenaries in their own country.

(2) The Sunni Army. It includes the resistance troops from among which Saudi Arabia is trying to co-opt.

(3) The Mahdi Army. It now owns the Shiite Street in Iraq.

(I will not cover the fourth army, the Kurdish. For the purpose of this topic, it doesn’t figure as prominently.)

THE AMERICAN ARMY AND ITS IRAQI ANCILLARIES

The assassination, on or about mid-October, of Salam al-Maamouri, Commander of the Force of the Spider, a rapid deployment force, revealed the following:

That any Iraqi units with the capability of engaging in true fighting respond not to the government of Iraq but to the United States. The Spider Force, trained and armed by the Americans, seemed to be an extension of that occupation. It was revealed specifically that Maamouri received orders from U.S. commanders, and not from the Iraqi government or any of its institutions. In addition, it was revealed that the U.S. occupation forces had provided the Spider Force much better weapons than they did those forces that responded to the government. Too, many of the 900-strong force were old police; one therefore may conclude that they were once Baathists, mostly Sunni.

That the better forces were not under the control of the Iraqi government, but of the U.S., was corroborated by Prime Minister Maliki. In his response to American criticism, on or about October 26, Mr. Maliki in frustration revealed that he had no control whatsoever over his armed forces and police; that these responded to orders by U.S. commanders. His words: I can’t move a single brigade without the approval if the Alliance--read: the Americans.

At the risk of exaggerating, to complete the picture, it looks as if the United States is forming in Iraq an army that would help it in the eventual face-off with Iran. In other words, U.S. commanders had given up on Iraqi governments, all governments, and have been running their own show in Iraq.

The assassination of Maamouri was followed by the transfer of General Adnan Thabit, Commander of the Security Preservation Force at the Ministry of the Interior, out of active duty and into administrative. Ditto for Rashid Flayeh. Thabit, a general under Saddam Hussein, was known to be an associate of the CIA’s Ayad Allawi, and responded to orders by U.S. occupation forces. Flayeh probably fell in the same box. It’s rumored that Thabit had commanded 10,000 troops, at the service of the U.S. occupier, and that another five like troop gatherings had existed and responded (and still do) directly to the American occupier. A estimated total of 60,000 troops. The transfer of these generals to administrative duties (symbolic and meaningless, really) may have been in response to complaints by the Maliki government about its helplessness in controlling the Amereican ancillary Iraqi armies.

It seemed therefore that the U.S. occupation has monopolized the state’s armed forces, police and defense. Factoring in the 50,000 global mercenaries or so, contractors with the Pentagon, the U.S. therefore owned an army that dwarfed anything the puppet state (Maliki’s) would ever dream of having.

Thus, in essence, attacks by the resistance (Sunni or Shiite) on Iraqi troops are one-and-the-same as attacks on U.S. troops, since the Iraqi troops of relevance are ancillaries to the U.S. armed forces and the Pentagon-hired foreign mercenaries. The resistance wonders: Why join an American army when you can be true to your community and join us? The answer, of course, is obvious. We join the American ancillary force in Iraq, mercenaries in our own land, to make a living. Joining the resistance could hardly bring in the income the U.S. taxpayer can pay.

THE SHIITE ARMY

British forces had estimated that there was a force of around 120,000 armed men (the Facilities’ Protection Force–FPF) which operated out of the Interior Ministry, but was not under the control of that ministry. Add to that the estimated 30,000 armed men, alleged guards of the Ministry, who too operated outside of that Ministry’s control.

These 150,000 armed men seemed to move in and out of the private militias, the Mahdi Army primarily.

The Mahdi Army once had been estimated at 100,000 armed men--not counting those who moved in and out. It’s safe to assume that Iran provides some of the funding for these, as does Saudi Arabia. (See previous article, “Saudi Arabia in Iraq.”) Other funding probably comes from the state, through jobs held by members of the Mahdi, and revenues from private sales of oil.

SCIRI’s Bader Brigade, while Shiite, seemed to have been bought out totally by the U.S. occupier. It had come from Iran with around 15,000 men, but ballooned larger with U.S. and Iraqi government money. But all observers seem to agree that Bader stands no chance against Mahdi.

THE SUNNI ARMY: SAUDI CUSTER TO BUY IT OFF, AND OUT.

I have covered the Sunni Army (the resistance) in a couple of earlier articles, the latest being “Saudi Arabia in Iraq.” This Army is the focus of this article in that Saudi Custer has come to assist the harmful idiots in dividing it, to weaken it.

The Saudis and the American occupier have been for a good while, wishfully, trying to split the Sunni resistance. Their effort has focused on the clans and tribes. They seem not to be mindful that the sons and daughters of these, not the foreigners, fill the ranks of the resistance. Accordingly, the Saudis and the harmful idiots have been trying to divide-and-rule the Sunni resistance.

In their attempt to aid the harmful idiots, the Saudis have been trying to co-opt the less intransigent part of the resistance. Clueless about history, the Saudis seem to be championing a return of the Baath, of the Saddam Hussein people. To turn the clock back.

The main vehicle for Saudi influence seems to be the Organization of Islamic Scholars (O.I.S.).

In an earlier article (“Saudi Arabia in Iraq”) I had covered the harmful idiots’ attempts at piercing through the unity wall of the Sunni resistance. In this, they had Jordanian assistance. Now they’ve added Saudi money to their arsenal.

I had speculated that the Saudis were funding the O.I.S. This speculation was analytically confirmed after the posting of the article by the visit of a delegation of these to Saudi Arabia and their meeting with King Abdallah.

The Sunni establishment as we now know it (e.g., Islamic Ulamas, Islamic Party), which had lied dormant under the secular government of Saddam Hussein, and which generally was supportive of his rule, came to life as a result of the American invasion and occupation. The OIS, the Islamic Party... have become the self-appointed spokesman of the Arab Sunni community.

WILL THE SAUDIS SUCCEED IN DIVIDING THE ARAB SUNNI ARMY?

The relevant question: How powerful is this establishment, compared to the many resistance groups that had emerged since the invasion? And can this establishment, using Saudi money, co-opt the resistance into some sort of peace with the Americans so that these can focus on Iran and Syria?

Majlis Shura al-Mujahideen, the chief rival to the establishment, is not the foreign element the harmful idiots would like us to believe. It seems to be predominately Iraqi. I suspect that it is made up of the younger generation, the same generation that came close to grabbing power in Algeria but was ruthlessly suppressed by the Algerian Old Guard.

In Iraq, these young stand a better chance than the Algerian, mainly because of the occupation and the fear that the sectarian divide engenders.

There’s no question that the harmful idiots, with help from Saudi money, are pushing on two fronts:

(1) They are trying to bring together the tribes/clans within the Sunni camp, to oppose the more intransigent part of the resistance--al Qaeda, for instance; and

(2) They are trying to evolve tribes-to-tribes solidarity–-Shiite tribes to Sunni tribes, and Sunni to Shiite. Consider the gathering on or about October 10 of tribes in Karbala--Shiite--which expressed their opposition to federalism, a Sunni nightmare. Consider, too, the Shiite clans’ expression of solidarity with the clans of Anbar in their effort to contain al Qaeda. (This expression reveals that the Karbala gathering was the work of the harmful idiots.)

The new Sunni establishment, the OIS-Islamic Party establishment, seems to have sway over the following resistance groups:

The Islamic Army
The Phalanges of the Revolution of the Twentieth
The Army of the Mujahideen
The General Command of the Armed Forces

On or about October 16, these groups criticized the Shura Council’s (al Qaeda) declaration of an Islamic Emirate. They issued their criticism under the guise that such would weaken the cause of the fight against the occupation.

WISHFUL THINKING: TURN THE CLOCK BACK TO THE DAYS OF THE OLD BAATH.

One representative of the Islamic Army asserted that his Army still was attempting to open the doors of negotiations with the Americans, but that all troops would have to withdraw, especially the American. He added that the U.S. occupier would have to release all Iraqi and Arab detainees, and that the U.S. would have to recognize the resistance as representing the Iraqi people. He said that the following groups shared in these demands:

The Islamic Army
Army of the Murabiteen
Army of the Rashideen
The Phalanges of the Revolution of the Twentieth.

The same spokesman blamed Al Qaeda and Ansar al-Sunna for the car bombings against Shiites. Strangely (to anyone with a historic sense), he demanded the release of Saddam Hussein. In addition, he called for all to declare their allegiance to Saddam’s deputy, Izzat al-Din Ibrahim al-Douri (Abu Ahmad.)

It's possible (even likely) that these statements by the Islamic Army spokesman were coordinated with the harmful idiots. Why? To provide a way out for these from the total alienation the Arab Sunnis feel towards them and the occupation.

This (attempted) revival of the Baath was reinforced when, around the same time, 500 people representing the Baath and the tribes attended a gathering about fifteen miles south of Kirkuk. The gathering seemed to be an attempt at regaining a place for Saddam Hussein in Iraqi public life, as a way (too late) for the harmful idiots to score points with the Arab Sunnis. Once again, it looked as if there was a new engine revving within the Sunni community, one which wanted to return the clock to the pre-invasion era. Neither Syria nor Iran would be interested in this. Once again, therefore, it looked like our harmful idiots, pumping Saudi money into the OIS and such resistance groups as the Islamic Army, were behind the event. Two birds with one stone: To divide/weaken the Sunni resistance, and to score (symbolic) points with the Arab Sunnis.

You weaken the Sunni Army and, by definition, your own--the American Army (the armed forces, the Pentagon mercenaries, and the Iraqi ancillaries)--would become more powerful.

The policy of bringing the old Baath back to life became evident yet again when we learned on or about October 26 that the Sunni camp, minus the Majlis Shura (al Qaeda and associated groups), was trying to unite under the command of a Saddam man, his once deputy Izzat al-Din Ibrahim al-Douri. The groups included the OIS, the General Command of the Armed Forces, the Islamic Army, the Phalanges of the Revolution of the Twentieth, the Army of the Rashideen , and some personalities (e.g., Ayatollah al-Azmi al-Sayyed Ahmad al-Hasni al-Baghdadi, the Iraqi National Coalition, some Communists. The finger for this attempt pointed to the Saudis, as meeting took place soon after the visit of the Ulamas to Saudis Arabia.

That the Saudis were coordinating with the harmful idiots in Iraq became more apparent when Sheikh Harith al-Dhari (OIS), on or about October 16, expressed in Saudi Arabia his group’s opposition to a federal Iraq. That was followed by the Saudi Minister of Culture and Information expressing the same, in Saudi Arabia’s name. And practivcally on the same day, on or about October 17, President Bush expressed the same.

An American-Saudi charm offensive towards the Sunnis!

What’s going on?

The short answer: The harmful idiots, with the Saudis’ help, are trying to create a supportive Arab Sunni constituency in Iraq, and to create divisions among the Sunni resistance--the Arab Sunni Army. If this army became weaker, then the army run by the U.S.--see above--by definition would become stronger.

THE OBSTACLES TO DIVIDING THE ARAB SUNNI ARMY

But the attempt to splinter and weaken the Sunni resistance faces huge obstacles:

(1) the fear the various groups have of intra-fighting. The Phalanges of the Revolution of the Twentieth, for example, did not join with the Islamic Army in the latter’s negotiations with the Americans in Amman, revealed on or about October 20. Their reluctance to participate could very well be an expression of their concern about splintering the Sunni camp. Note, too, for instance, the Islamic Army’s reluctance on or about October 23, to criticize the Majlis Shura’s (al-Qaeda) declaration of the Islamic Imarah, which Mosul had joined on that same date. The Islamic Army responded by saying that it took exception to that movement, nothing more.

(2) The harmful idiots’ and the Saudis’ attempt to splinter the Arab Sunni resistance faces yet another obstacle: the Kurds’ de facto secession in the north, made possible by the harmful idiots over a couple of decades. If you’ve wondered why the civil war has been inching its way north (a phenomenon which this newsletter had predicted a good while ago), it's because the Mahdi Army and some among the Sunnis are trying to create a common goal in fighting for the unity of Iraq by fighting off Kurdish secession.

(3) Another huge obstacle is the memory all Arab Sunnis have: That Saudi Arabia is the same treacherous brother-country which stabbed twice in the back the Iraqi Sunnis by colluding with the harmful idiots.

(4) Another obstcale: The potential for a united Iraq away from the Saudis and their silliness is truly impressive: a country that would dwarf the harmful idiots' silly protectorates in its fair distribution of wealth--an example for all to emulate. That's Iraqi nationalism. The Saudi example in Lebanon has shown all that assets like the Saudis' and the harmful idiots' would pillage the common resources, shamelessly, as the greed of these assets knows no end---absolutely none.

(5) Not to mention that this Saudi-mediated rapprochement between the Sunnis and the occupation forces runs head on into the threat of the Shiites taking over the mantle of resistance, with the Mahdi Army in the forefront The Iraqi Sunni Street, while gaining a respite from a renewed Shiite insurgency, would risk losing a part of their Army to an alliance with the Shiites. If the battles rage on long enough, this run-away part of the Sunni Army should gain increasing support among he Sunnis and be the recipient of larger and larger numbers of Sunni recruits. The Sunni establishment (e.g., the OIS and the Islamic Army) would become increasingly marginal, fattened by Saudi money, but unable to hold on to any real power.

THE REAL DANGER OF THE MAHDI ARMY TO THE INFANTILE STRATEGY OF THE HARMFUL IDIOTS

Hence the practical siege by the American occupier and its Iraqi-controlled ancillary army of the Mahdi and its commanders. By effecting the siege, the American occupier aims for the following:

(1) Stop Mahdi’s killings of Sunnis, the retaliation by these, and the concomitant population transfers. The occupying army is doing this not out of the goodness of its heart. Sectarian killings and retaliatory massacres place a terrific strain on the Iraqi troops (Sunni and Shiite) in the American Army--the ancillary forces–-those troops that are beholden to the United States and not to the insignificant government of Maliki. Mahdi likely intends these massacres and it intends the psychological strain these create in the very soul of the Shiites and Sunnis within the ancillary/mercenary troops of the American Army.

Mahdi is doing exactly what the Sunni establishment once had done: Stoke a civil war (currently : make it worse) to fail the new rapprochement between the U.S. and the Sunnis. Just as the Sunni establishment had ignited a civil war to fail the American occupation, which had meant to castrate each and every Arab male, in particular the Sunni, the Shiites now are doing the same.

Weakening the American Army (read: U.S. troops, the global mercenaries, and their Iraqi mercenary/ancillary troops) by definition strengthens the alternative Mahdi Army.

(2) Prevent the Mahdi Army from waging a full-scale war against the occupier, as it did twice before. Such war would see the Shiite population of Iraq join Mahdi in droves, including men who the U.S. had bought out (with actual dollars) within the Bader Brigade and others.

NULLIFYING THE EFFECT OF SAUDI MONEY: THE SUNNI ISLAMISTS AND THE MAHDI SADRISTS JOIN FORCES IN THE NORTH.

On or about October 13, three Sadrists were killed in Kirkuk. Another three were killed the day after. And two U.S. soldiers died a couple of days later, in Kirkuk. On October 17 or thereabout, two suicide bombers exploded themselves in Kirkuk. (Suicide bombing is more typical of the Sunni Islamist/al Qaeda camp than the Sadrist.) Accordingly , one is justified to conclude that the war in Kirkuk was being waged by a coalition of Sunni Islamists and Sadrists–-the Islamic front Iran and Syria had been praying for. On or about October 20, a total of six suicide bombings took place in Mosul, a majority Arab Sunni town, targeting Iraqi police and U.S. troops.

The hope of the pro-Iran and Syria camps in the north probably is to neutralize the Saudi money-pumping initiative within the Sunni camp. Along with the general reluctance to initiate intra-Sunni fighting and weaken the hitherto solid Sunni Army, taking the war north promises to nullify the effect of the Saudi money, pumped into the pockets of the less intransigent (and probably older) Sunni leaders.

WILL SAUDI CUSTER SUCCEED?

Did Custer?

NATIONAL SECURITY ALERT: AL-QAEDA IS COMING TO WASHINGTON, D.C.

secondroughdraft

AL QAEDA IS COMING...TO WASHINGTON, D.C.

Get ready: Al Qaeda is coming to Washington D.C., to open an office in the nation’s capital. No visa complications. They’re guests of the harmful idiots.

Yes Virginia. Defeat of the Israeli-American alliance in Iraq, and Israeli defeat in Lebanon, have driven the harmful idiots mad. The Arab and Muslim-hating alliance of the Christian Right and the Jewish Right is cracking under the onus of defeat. The Pentagon is no longer crazy about the Israelis and their consultants; and Israeli Prime Minister Olmert (in Russia) poked fun (in effect) at the Pentagon, saying his army did better in Lebanon than the Pentagon in Iraq. (He likely was referring to his massacre of civilians, his Sabra and Shatila-like mass murder from the sky. )

Though I’m not privy to any classified information (and I don’t want to be), I can tell you with the assurance of an analyst that al-Qaeda is heading our way, invited here by the harmful idiots, and financed by the Saudis.

Call it analytical speculation. I’m certain of my analysis and of my analysis-based speculation.

BACKGROUND

SaudiPolitics had covered the silly and insignificant European travel (“defection”) from Syria of Abdel Halim Khaddam, former Deputy President, to France. This newsletter had speculated that Mr. Khaddam, a Sunni, floated on lots of Saudi money into a palace in France. Our harmful idiots, of course, the cunning and terrific political hit men they think they are, were thrilled–-as it took little to thrill them, what with Iraq and all.

UPI now is telling us that Abdel Halim Khaddam was recently in Saudi Arabia where he had met with King Abdallah and Crown Prince Sultan. Quiet a fancy treatment for an insignificant little man. But if you’re desperate--and the Saudis and the harmful idiots are-- Mr. Khaddam is a giant.

Also in Saudi Arabia was Ali Sadreddine al-Bayanouni, a likely harmful idiots’ asset, the head of the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood, a Sunni group.

(Even if the UPI story had been planted by Saudi intelligence , this article still should remain valid. Why would Saudi intelligence plant the story in UPI? Because they want to check whether there will be opposition to the opening of a Muslim Brothers' office in Washington D.C.)

The Saudis and the harmful idiots--along with other rich but politically desperate governments--have taken to creating Sunni extremist groups to balance--in their minds only-- Shiite power. So, in Lebanon, for example, the Hariri-paid establishment, a state within a...Wait a moment, the Hariri family IS the state–there’s hardly any real money in the coffers of the Lebanese shell government, but tons in the Hariri family’s--the Hariri family state seems to have brought to prominence the Lebanese Jama3at Islamiyyah, a Muslim Brothers/al Qaeda organization, in a desperate attempt to balance out Shiite Hezbollah. So, in essence, the neighborhood is turning Islamic all the way, once without the assistance of the harmful idiots, but now, after Iraq, with.

Both Mr. Khaddam, and Mr. al-Bayanouni had joined together in a National Salvation Front (NSF), as an exile opposition group to the Asad government in Syria.

Take my analytical words for it: These guys are almost certainly financed extremely well by Saudi intelligence and our harmful idiots. Wined (oops!) and dined. No apartments for these. Only palaces. The Saudis and the harmful idiots are trying to find a way to force Syria to submit to Empire and to its Israeli darling and favorite protectorate.

AL-QAEDA IN WASHINGTON, D.C.

This newsletter had in the past highlighted the fact that U.S. support of even a shell of a group that claims to be part of the Muslim Brotherhood is in effect support for al-Qaeda. That it matters little that the group’s members are assets of our harmful idiots. I’ll (re)-explain later.

The UPI article reveals that the NSF is planning to open offices in Washington, D.C. Oh, yeah, Virginia. The Muslim Brothers a/k/a al-Qaeda, are coming to Washington D.C.

It’s an extremely dangerous scheme. My rationale: Mr. Al-Bayanouni is bound to get some public support. Right? After all, he purports to speak in the name of he Muslim Brothers, an old organization, albeit all know that he likely (analytically: certainly) is an American and Saudi tool. Don’t you think that the true al-Qaeda types, and Syrian and Iranian intelligence agents, would infiltrate his movement? You bet they will. Unless he wants to remain as politically insignificant as a shell organization, he will have to recruit. The most recent example of such effort had been the Pentagon’s sponsorship of the Iraqi opposition. Similarly, we can expect that NSF’s recruits would be the opportunists (e.g., Ahmad Jarabi,) or the sincere. Among the sincere, don't you think that al-Qaeda and Iranian and Syrian intelligence would inject informants and double agents? A lot, a real lot, of these?

Don't forget for a moment that the Sunnis feel as humiliated by Israel as any Muslim or Arab. That the Palestinian plight is alive in their very soul. So how is a Muslim Brotherhood that is beholden to the Saudis and to the harmful idiots going to have any success without fielding warriors for Palestine? Accordingly, the NSF smacks of an outfit that would attracts mostly opportunists or double-agents, and only few sincere Syrians. There will come a time, therefore, when the process would almost certainly run out of the harmful idiots’ control (as so so many before it), and that of the Saudis (as did political Islam.)

Whichever way one looks at it, infiltrators (the majority of the recruits) should be expected to rise to various levels in the organization of the Muslim Brotherhood and, more disturbingly, within the ranks of the NSF. Hilariously (tragically, really), these infiltrators could become the most active in the Front. So, in essence, we will have a Saudi/harmful idiots’ creation that is a complement to al Qaeda and to Syrian intelligence, and Iranian.

For al Qaeda is nothing but another face of the Muslim Brotherhood, including Syrian. You’d think the harmful idiots already have learned that the process of recruiting an opposition to a relatively stable government, even if only to subdue it, can acquire a life of its own and land us and that country’s people into a quagmire. What with the rise of the Jewish Right, taking advantage of the process to establish dominance for Israel over Saudi Arabia (mission accomplished) and, as a consequence, the Middle East? The harmful idiots may have some control of events in the Middle East, so as to trip Administrations into intervention, using the daughters of Arab Ambassador-assets in Washington to lie to a spineless Congress, for instance. But they don’t have enough political control domestically to dodge a takeover of the process by the Jewish Right and its –once--Christian Right ally.

(I say once because the Jewish Right now is retreating to the liberal camp, washing its hands of the Iraq affair and, as true opportunists, becoming critical of the President. To the point where the Christian Right had to bring out the Bush father as a shot across the bow of the retreating and suddenly critical Jewish Right. You continue criticizing our favorite son, and...)

Iran and Syria know exactly what the Saudis and the harmful idiots are up to. Hence the decision by Hamas to accept (as inevitable) and adopt escalation against the Palestinian cargo-getting Uncle Tom: Mahmoud Abbas. The Palestinian Foreign Minister, a Hamas leader, Mr. Mahmoud al-Zahhar, recently used practically the same words in describing Israel, as the Iranian President, in a speech that came too close after a visit to Damascus and Tehran by the Interior Minister, also a Hamas leader.

Put differently, Iran is using the Palestinians’ plight to mobilize the Arabs away from the Sunni-Shiite rift, a goal of the harmful idiots and their Arab puppets.

In starker terms: Islamist assets of Saudi intelligence and of our harmful idiots are little dams built to stop an overwhelming tsunami--the sympathy Arabs and Muslims feel for the Palestinians without a state, and for a Lebanon that was destroyed by the harmful idiots’ most darling protectorate, using American weapons and, most vexing, American cluster bombs, against civilians. (And, it's confirmed now, phosphorous bombs.)

FAKE REASONS

And why is the NSF a/k/a Muslim Brotherhood a/k/a al-Qaeda planning to open an office in Washington, D.C.? The NSF answer: To keep in touch with the Syrian community in the United States and with the Administration. As one judge I practice before would comment: Highly unlikely.

I once was National Coordinator of the largest Arab-American organization, and I’ve traveled across the country extensively, meeting with Arab-Americans and their leaders, fund-raising, and organizing chapters. It seemed to me then that the majority of Syrians in America were Christian, not Muslim. And the Muslim ones were one with the Christian. It also seemed to me that these (Christian and Muslim) would be extremely averse to having any (ANY) relations with anyone associated with the Muslim Brothers, Khaddam or not. They're modernist, forward-looking people, and they seek association with like-minded leaders.

(You will of course always find the odd screwballs, especially if there’s (Saudi) money involved, and no requirement to register as foreign agents, since these odd ones would have the protection of the harmful idiots.)

As for keeping in touch with the Administration--I wish the Syrian Muslim Brothers and the Administration would use email or scrambled phones instead. Or, I wish the harmful idiots would state the real reason why they want the Muslim Brothers to have an office in D.C.: To keep Congress mobilized, using foreign agents who claim they are not.

THE BEAR IN THE VINEYARD

A Lebanese proverb advises by asking, “Is anyone [so crazy] as to invite the bear into his vineyard?” I’ve made this mistake once. I’ve let the bear into my vineyard. So I should know. A Muslim Brotherhood-associated group, easily infiltrated, with an office in Washington D.C., is inviting al Qaeda to scope its next targets and develop a network in the United States.

Words to the wise.

NO CONSCIENCE: JOHNS HOPKINS AND IRAQ.

secondroughdraft

JOHNS HOPKINS + IRAQ

Could it be that an institution is organizationally endowed with character traits that pertain to homo sapiens? That it could be sadistic, as a psychopath?

NO CONSCIENCE

A long time ago, I was involved in a debriefing of a client at the Office of the United States Attorney. In the middle of the debriefing session, the Assistant United States Attorney, a colleague who had attended law school with me, asked that I join him outside the debriefing room. He stared at me. Haltingly, he said, “Your client is devoid of a conscience.” I swiftly came to my client’s defense. I made arguments about my client being nervous, young, intimidated by the FBI agents, police detectives, and degree-holding lawyers. Worse of all, I pointed out, he was shackled to the floor.

Secretly, I had become concerned that the Assistant was paving the way to finding a means to renege on the agreement we had reached. I had begun to regret my professional judgement and to map out my next move. He read my mind. He assured me he wasn’t. I was aware that some prosecutors were careless in their judgement of nearly all, though many were not, and the colleague certainly wasn’t.

JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY

One department at the Johns Hopkins University now is telling us that the American invasion and occupation of Iraq has resulted in the death of 655,000 Iraqis.

Not to be unappreciative: But is this Johns Hopkins University showing remorse for having been one incubator of the idea of invading a country that meant us (and had done us) no harm? Is it asserting that Johns Hopkins does possess a conscience? Or is it yet another grant--some grants to orphan children, wholesale, preferably ugly Arab and Muslim children, and some grants to count the numbers of their ugly Arab dead parents?

Orphan the children; do it with a blank stare, emotion-less, the stare of a psychopath, the stare of someone devoid of a conscience. Then do a study about it and publish it in The Lancet.

SAUDI ARABIA , SUBMISSIVE, ENTRAPS IRAN.

newsuperimproved fourth roughdraft

"This is a joke, for no Saudi [citizen] can meet with an Israeli, let alone a [Saudi] official."

SAUDI CROWN PRINCE SULTAN. (10/13/06, Al-Hayat Online my translation)

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

I'v had this eureka moment, as I was discussing the subject with a friend. Submissive, Saudi Arabia (and the other Gulf countries) are colluding with Israel, under the supervision of the harmful idiots, in setting up a trap for Iran--to have the Islamic Republic commit something spectacular.

By setting up a trap for Iran, the Israelis (along with our harmful idiots and the rich Gulf protectorates) hope to instigate it to commit that one act which would bring one million U.S. troops to the region to have a full-scale war with Israel's competitor--Iran. Something that would force Congress to convene and issue a Gulf of Tonkin Resolution.

Prior to meeting the friend, I had been checking out an Iranian newspaper. In one section which usually is reserved to Iranian intelligence messages to the world, the Iranians referred to a report in an Israeli paper about the head of Israel's foreign intelligence service having received so many gifts from Gulf leaders. And this is where the eureka moment swept me off my chair. The Israelis are flooding their newspapers with news that are terrifically offensive to the Iranians-- about meeting with Saudi princes (which, in all likelihood, they have--see below about the statements on British television of a person known to be close to King Abdallah) and about gifts by Gulf leaders to Israeli officials--to instigate the Iranians to do that one act that would bring into the region one million-plus U.S. troops to defeat once and for all Israel's rival.

In other words, the war of attrition against the U.S. in Iraq, slow but terrifically effective, puts Iran in the winning camp, since--for now--it really owns the Arab Shiites and the Arab Sunnis. The Israelis (and our harmful idiots) are hoping to trap Iran into a full-scale American-Iranian war. But they couldn't achieve that goal without first inflaming the feelings in Congress against Iran, to force our uncritical Congress to call for war against that country. For that, the Israelis and the others would need an Iranian act--for example, a large-scale operation that kills 200 U.S. troops, not the three here, four there-- to shock the American public and Congress into dispatching the million U.S. soldiers.

Does the little item in the Iranian paper, in the space reserved to messages from Iranian intelligence to the world, mean that the Iranians are biting? I don't know. I doubt that they would fall for something that silly. But one never knows.

It seems to me that the Israelis and their Saudi and Gulf pets are treating the Iranians as simpletons. The feeling here--and I am talking to people these days and asking them--is that the Jewish Right and the Israelis already have gotten us into one quagmire. And that it would take such a heavy-duty act by the Iranians to instigate a major U.S. mobilzation towards the Middle East.

The fear that sends chills up my spine is that our troops would now have to watch their back twice as much, lest a spectacular act against them is committed not by the Iraqi resistance, but by intelligence operatives (Arabs working for Israel and its Arab governments), meant to look as if it were committed by the Iranians.

As it is, our troops are living in hell. The last thing they need is a bunch of useless protectorates ganging up to murder some of them to reel us into a war with Iran--and yet another, and much bloodier, quagmire.

"It's truly a dark day for Arabs and Muslims--that the American-Israeli alliance has failed in Iraq, yet succeeded superbly in cowing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and making it fully submissive. One hundred percent."

EXCERPT.

...AND: PRESSING NABIH BERRI TO IGNITE AN INTRA-SHIITE CIVIL WAR.

1. SAUDI ARABIA UNDER THE BOOT OF THE AMERICAN JEWISH RIGHT

The Jewish Right played the most prominent role in leading the United States to its first defeat in the twenty-first century, and into a quagmire. But it scored a huge victory for Israel. It has grabbed for it the biggest prize of them all: Saudi Arabia.

Taking advantage of the fact that a Saudi politician in exile had ordered the September 11 terror attacks, the Jewish Right had waged a vicious public campaign against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Its operatives succeeded in floating the idea of breaking up the Kingdom into various states, and having the Pentagon give the idea respectability.

The leaders of the Saudi royal family as a consequence ran scared.

The Jewish Right has been thoroughly defeated and humiliated in Iraq. But the Saudis always are behind. They’re operating under the belief that the Jewish Right controls their fate in the United States. It doesn’t:

--Not when dozens of U.S. troops are falling (needlessly) in Iraq every month, thanks in large part to the Jewish Right.

--Not when the Iraq war’s real cost has neared 1.6 trillion dollars.

–-Not when the names of the Jewish Right’s luminaries bring nausea to the many among the American elite–-including conservative Republicans.

--Not when Hezbollah has whipped the Israeli army’s ass for the second time running.

--Not when China and Russia have all but taken over the Iranian and Syrian markets, and are major strategic players in the region.

--Not when China has all but taken over in the Sudan.

--Not when the West lacks the troops and will never have them, wishful thinking aside. An aging Europe and a reluctant United States who has an eye-and-a-half on Asia.

--Not when a Democrat (most likely) or a Republican from the realist school in foreign policy (less likely, though way more likely than a politician from the Christian Right) is knocking at the door of the White House and should come in with an agenda to get the hell out of Iraq.

(An agreement between Republicans and Democrats about a protocol for Iraq, to withdraw, will mean little. I suspect that the country will continue to tire out and the public will place yet more pressure on policy makers to get out. Our tenure in Iraq is untenable whichever way one looks at it, more troops or less. The Democrats are making a mistake, sitting with the Republican old guard--brought over to rescue the little ones--to hammer out a protocol. The defeat in Iraq is a defeat for the populist Republican right wing, first and foremost. The Democrats should be weary of sharing in that defeat. But sharing they are.)

–-Not when Turkey is and will forever be busy with the Kurds.

--Not when the Israelis continue to expand settlements and humiliate the Palestinian Arabs, and dodge the formation of a viable Palestinian state.

–-Not when, as a consequence, Iran owns the Arab Street.

--Not when politicians in the United States manipulate the American Jewish community, and the political entrepreneurs of this community spin the politicians, with a net result that nothing politically good will ever ever EVER come out from this country regarding a Middle East settlement. (So: Ignore all statements to the contrary.)

--Not when Israeli politicians hold dear the cargo of the strategic alliance with the United States, which would require their country to remain a militaristic state to secure this cargo, albeit with nothing to do and nowhere to go.

--Not when all astute observers know that Israel is useless strategically when it comes to Iran, since a substantial distance separates the two. That war from the air has proven repeatedly to be of very limited use, unless your goal is to execute criminal collective punishment, massacres, the pre-meditated murder of 1200 civilians, a Sabra and Shatila from the air.

(Not that the leaders of the Saudi royal family care–-the dead and maimed were mostly Arab Shiites after all! I’m saying “leaders” because I know there are Arab patriots and smart people among the royal family, and there are patsies. Most of the leaders are in the camp of the patsies.)

--Not when Iran has very (very, very, very. VERY) likely perfected plans to disintegrate a good part of its conventional forces into guerrilla groups and spread them into Iraq, Kuwait, the Kingdom, and other places...when attacked by either Israel (don’t make me laugh) or the United States (don’t make me cry.) Iran should not be expected to do this unless attacked in a major fashion, as by a mobilized U.S.

(I hate to have to think for the Pentagon; they make $500 billion and I make ZERO! Yet, they had not planned for the IEDs in Iraq, which had kicked Israel’s ass in Lebanon in the 1980s and 1990s. )

-- Not when any association with a militaristic anti-Palestinian Israel for Arab governments mean total loss of any public support, which means that the Arab public will remain positively disposed to fighting the United States and mistrusting their governments--nothing new, only more not less mistrust.

–Not when...

I can go on with the list for quite a long time.

Strategically, the Saudis, cowed by and submissive to the Jewish Right, are barking up the wrong tree. The Jewish Right doesn’t control their fate in the United States, and could not have any impact on their alliance to the U.S. To be sure, from a balance of power perspective, and economically, the U.S. is mandated to defend the Kingdom, come what may. The Jewish Right’s stint with power came because of the unusual events of September 11, and the magnitude of these. Otherwise, it would’ve gone on printing anti-Saudi books, where it would buy these through dummy outfits, to make it look like someone actually was reading these diatribes.

Why am I addressing this issue?

2. WAKE UP YA (Arabic for “O”) ABDEL-BARI

Because the Arab press (and Israeli) is rife with news and rumors about Israeli Prime Minister Olmert having met “secretly” with one (or more) important member(s) of the Saudi royal family in Jordan. And there’s confusion about the meaning of this not-so-secret meeting.

Why the leak, which first appeared in the Israeli press? Or was it a leak? Was it planned?

Abdel Bari Atwan in al-Quds al-Arabi (online--10/7/06) believes the leak was not. That the spread of the news to the press was intentional. He believes that the Saudis wanted to make it known that they were allied to the Israelis, to prepare for the upcoming confrontation with Iran.

Using the alleged words of the Saudi prince who had met Olmert, not Abdel-Bari’s: To defeat Iran as the Saudis had (through the Israelis) defeated Nasser, to defeat Iran as Saudi Arabia haad defeated Saddam Hussein, thanks to Israel using its influence in Washington D.C. to persuade the United States to dispatch its army to Iraq;

...and had --this is my version--(by Saudi Arabia paying off the Israelis) bombed Lebanon a la Nazis, mowing down the civilians from the air (which defeated no one but the Israelis, though it left immense misery behind and hundreds of thousands of cluster bombs which look like toys to children.)

The key here is the appearance on a British television program, along with Abdel-Bari Atwan, of a person who Mr. Atwan said was close to King Abdallah. This person, wrote Mr. Atwan, quoted the Saudi prince who met with Mr. Olmert as saying that the Kingdom and Israel were "on the same page." That person, whatever his extra associations, being close to Saudi king Abdallah, would not have made this statement without intending it to be purposeful. Hence Saudi collusion in the larger scheme against Iran.

What is the larger scheme?

3. THE LARGER SCEHME: TO INSTIGATE A MISTAKE BY IRAN

If you’ve been reading this newsletter, you would’ve read the issue which addressed a seemingly odd phenomenon where Masoud Barazani, the “President” of Iraqi Kurdistan, at the Kuwait airport, had declared that Kurdistan would like to have an Israeli consulate or two. My interpretation then was that the Kuwaiti intelligence service, controlled fully by the harmful idiots, had put up Masoud to that. Its hope: to instigate Iran into committing that act the harmful idiots were praying for which would enable the harmful idiots to push our American politicians to enact the draft and ship a million plus troops to the region.

The Saudis are no different. The harmful idiots and the American Jewish Right (via the harmful idiots and, more directly, probably via “consultants” who are Israeli intelligence) control the Saudi intelligence services, with or without the knowledge of King Abdallah.

Hence the submissiveness.

It's truly a dark day for Arabs and Muslims--that the American-Israeli alliance has failed in Iraq, yet succeeded superbly in cowing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and making it fully submisive. One hundred percent.

4. SETTING UP A TRAP FOR IRAN TO SECURE THE DRAFT

Which means that the Israeli “leak” about the meeting, where the harmful idiots and the Israelis probably used Prince Bandar bin Sultan as the stooge, was a trap set up for Iran.

Would the Islamic Republic react against the Kingdom? Would it do that wished-for act (such as taking over territory, or dispatching a missile or two against Abqaiq) that would enable the harmful idiots to push U.S. politicians to enact the draft? That would turn the Arab Street against it?

(I’ve gone over this already in earlier issues: No one is going to fall for the April Glaspie trick, she herself likely having been duped by the harmful idiots, who thought--and still think–they can outsmart others, while the others are continually outsmarting them.)

5. THE DRAFT: A FANCIFUL AND ASININE IDEA?

The draft is a fanciful wish. Why then pursue it? Oh well, do remember that we’re dealing with harmful idiots, who are both harmful and idiot–and hugely desperate. They are playing domestic politics, a very dangerous occurrence for American democracy. How so? They are manipulating a foreign situation over which they have some control, to entrap Iran, to create a condition where the U.S. Congress has no choice but to enact the draft.

Anyway, it would take a true and deep recession in the country to allow for the draft; though, miscalculating yet again, the reaction to a deep recession could be urban riots and unsettling political turbulence, and not the draft. That would require the troops to stay home to contain the violence. Too, the country would go deeper into bankruptcy.

6. WHAT’S REALLY UP?

Has Abdel Bari Atwan not been reading this newsletter?

--Has he not read that the arms contracts with BAE Systems could very well have channeled Saudi money to Israel–to pay it for the Nazi-like assault on Lebanon’s Arab civilian population?

--That it mattered little for the Saudi decision-makers since the dead and the maimed were mostly Arab Shiites, including many Shiite children?

--That the wish behind destroying Lebanon was to flood it with NATO troops, under the guise of UNIFIL, and disarm Hezbollah?

--That the BAE Systems money was probably the Saudi payoff to the Israelis to (in effect) spread cluster bombs all over the south and kill Arab Shiite and Christian children, and maybe even some Arab Sunni?

--That the next step in Lebanon would be for Hezbollah and the Palestinian fasael to clash with NATO troops. (France and Germany are taking political protective measures which may or may not work.)

--That, eventually, Hezbollah and the fasael could go so far as to arm all the willing Palestinians in response to any attempt to disarm Hezbollah without demilitarizing northern Israel, and ceasing Israeli violations of Lebanon's air space?

--So that the harmful idiots and the Syrians would get Lebanon once again into a full-scale civil war?

7. YA NABIH, INTIBIH!*

This calls on Nabih Berri to be extremely cautious and extremely alert: The people who want him to spill Arab Shiite blood are the same who would spill Arab Shiite blood without a hint of remorse, and have done that only a couple of months ago. (Berri is in Saudi Arabia and should be leaving it on Monday.)

The Lebanon civil war the harmful idiots are working and paying for is one of the most confused and criminally neurotic foreign policy objectives I’ve ever seen. It’s borne out of abject desperateness in Iraq, painful defeat in Lebanon, and political inability to do the right thing. All of this bloodshed to be paid for by the Lebanese.

Will Nabih break ranks in Lebanon? He should know, shouldn't he, that a political stalemate beats a civil war any day, intra-Shiite, or other. Besides, Mr. Berri could not win that civil war, anyway. Nor could the NATO troops.

My conclusion: the intra-Shiite civil war would be bloodshed for nothing, just to please the harmful idiots, the Jewish Right and its new pet, Saudi Arabia.

8. REPARATIONS FOR LEBANON.

If the American-Israeli alliance wants total dominance, it’s not going to get it. The Middle East has cargo flowing to it from all directions. But it can hope for acceptance–and that can be done by compensating Lebanon the minimum 500 billion euros this alliance and Europe (especially Germany and Britain) owe it for the many wars waged on its territory against the displaced Palestinians.

To gain acceptance, they should help in the creation of a viable Palestinian state on all pre-1967 territory, and have the Palestinians negotiate for it, not the Saudis, since these are now under the Jewish Right's boot. They should withdraw form all of the Joulan to Syria and station U.N. troops there; they should pay reparations to the Palestinian refugees for loss of home, for their misery for that loss, and for their wholesale slaughter by the Israelis (e.g., Sabra and Shatila.)

Mr. Berri should be mindful that the $20 million offered, the $100 million...is pittance. The Saudi/American proxy in Lebanon is worth $15 to 17 billion, I hear, while Lebanon is in debt to the tune of $37 billion–-what with all this can't-become-a-billionaire-without-paid-for-by-government-via-borrowing-construction-and- government-contracts and ....(Some day I’ll review the Nasserite Najah Wakim’s writings on the subject who I believe has documented the theft of Lebanon’s public purse.) A state within a state, truly. Correct this: That one family is the Lebanese state. It has turned the Lebanese into beggars in their own country. It recently dispatched the police to shoot and kill the poor who took over government-owned land to build their shacks, yet it had appropriated Lebanon’s public purse and made it its own and drove the country into debt with outrageous interest paid to banks owned by themselves--among other corrupt practices.

Steal when poor, and the Lebanese police murders your children. Steal when rich, and the United States showers you with political and diplomatic support.

Lebanon is owed 500 billion euros, at a minimum. All else offered is pittance, bread crumbs thrown to the ground for the hungry slaves to gather.

* The very name “Nabih” means “alert.” Intibih is of the same root, meaning “Be alert”

TENET SPEAKS OUT--FINALLY!

seconddraft

In today’s Washington Post (October 1, 2006), page A-17, ("Two Months Before 9/11, an Urgent Warning to Rice), George Tenet, former Director of the CIA, and J. Cofer Black, counter-terrorism chief, spill the beans about Condoleeza Rice and others.

Tenet probably still is smarting from the mistake of his life, having allowed the White House to politicize his agency’s intelligence about Iraq. Life’s too short to be silent about principles, don’t you think?

Expect a lot of nastiness ahead, especially between the Jewish Right and the Christian Right; and between the Jewish Right and their allies and the retired generals.

I don’t read the luminaries of the Jewish or the Christian Right. But I heard that Thomas Friedman had expressed disappointment in the President about Iraq. That’s a sign that the Jewish Right is trying to wash its hands off the quagmire it helped (substantially) create, and to shift the blame for the failure of its ideas to the Christian Right, as represented by the President.

(It’s not the mediocre idea of invading an Arab country and de-stabilizing the regional balance of power; it’s the way the President applied it. Ditto for the hooray-for-war-orphan-Arab-and-Muslim-children Washington Post. It’s been back-pedaling along the same lines.)

The Christian Right probably will retaliate. Unlike the Jewish Right, it doesn't have the luxury of retreating to the relative safety of the liberal camp. Its back is against the wall.

Bill Clinton brought it all out when he accused President Bush’s “neocons” and other Republicans of ignoring bin Laden. Didn't you love that performance? Mr. Clinton once again has shown us that he is a genius politician.
