ON HOLD TEMPORARILY WHILE THE HARMFUL IDIOTS’ MERCENARIES HAVE THEIR WAY WITH ARABS.

first rough draft

Here I am whiling away at the nursing home. Meanwhile, my friend Betty, the president of our specialized bar, introduces herself to my clients and shows up in court for me. They’re happy to see an attractive and handsome woman instead of a bald guy.

Don’t be vexed: I’ll be preoccupied for a while, waiting for a death, an American death at a nursing home-- the new assembly line in today’s America. Colleagues buy old American trucks, nostalgic about the days when we made real products here and those who made them took pride and gained a real income. Now in the new assembly lines we process each other. At the nursing home, I suspect they make near minimum wage, certainly nothing that allows them to rent an efficiency in D.C. Poor they: they hold on to their comatose patients like dear life–afraid to lose that wage, near-minimum though it might be.

Our fearless leaders at the White House, the Federal Reserve, and at trade agencies squirm about trying to jump-start a manufacturing revival by engineering a run on the dollar. But China, the likely target of this strategy, has a few hundred million rural laborers to go. Until these are integrated in the so-called global economy, no amount of devaluing of the dollar should ignite that wished for revival in manufacturing. Put differently, even with the dollar at its lowest, it should still be cheaper to manufacture in China. Likely yet another bubble should emerge from the policy of aggressive devaluation, and only some revival of manufacturing. What these fearful leaders need to do is raise taxes, especially on gasoline. But no one dares.

While I while away and Betty attends to my business the harmful idiots stubbornly ignite civil wars, destroy countries, divide-to-conquer, and orphan yet more children, mostly Arab but American too.

Who cares? Either way, they’re other peoples’ children. Right?

WILL THE IRAQI RESISTANCE BRIDGE THE SECTARIAN DIVIDE?

My mind lately has been pondering over the likely response by the Iraqi resistance for the recent mass murder of civilians by the harmful idiots’ mercenaries and the harmful idiots’ colonial policy to divide and conquer. Not to mention the alternative plan of other imperial harmful idiots: to federalize Iraq and assure its future weakness lest it rises again and balance Israeli power.

For the benefit of this blog’s international readers, I should mention that these mercenaries are there because in the U.S. they’d be working at near-minimum wage as security guards or at Wal-Mart selling Chinese-made products. At best, they’d be police officers assigned the task of encircling the rebels and the poor of inner-city America.

Instead these mercenaries find themselves in an Arab country, having their way with all, civilians included. I bet that to them all Arabs are alike. Only to their leaders are there tolerable friendly rich Arabs who can make them rich when they leave office (e.g., the Carlyle Group)-– the gloriously corrupt assets of the harmful idiots -- and the rest are terrorists.

The fact that the United States relies so heavily on mercenaries in Iraq is testimony to the disgust -- even revulsion -- we feel to have to do this: handle unappreciative Arabs. We despise these Arabs, and only like the ones who appreciate our cargo or the multitude in the Arab media who are on our payroll. We so despise them that we send them our unemployed and under-employed trigger-happy security guards, not draftees, not soldiers who respond (some times) to international conventions.

Been thinking: Will the Iraqi resistance retaliate? That resistance is stuck in the sectarian mold, which had served it well to defeat the American Jewish Right’s project to secure Israel’s realm. That’s passe. The resistance now has seen the harmful idiots, the colonialists they are, use the very same sectarian divide to re-conquer them. To suppress the younger generation and align with the ancien regimes. But the harmful idiots have added a twist: they’re pushing along intra-sectarian divisions:

“The American plan now is , apparently, is to extend the Anbar model and create ‘bottom-up’ solutions throughout Iraq. For example, I’m told that U.S. commanders met recently with the Shiite political organization known as the Supreme Islamic Iraqi Council and gave a green light for its Badr Organization militia to control security in Nasiriyyah and some other areas in southern Iraq and thereby check the power of Moqtada al-Sadr’s Mahdi Army. We’re imposing ourselves here in an intra-Shiite battle we barely understand.”

David Ignatius, “Shaky Allies in Anbar,” washingtonpost.com , Sept 20, 2007, at A 21.

Through it all, the resistance knows that the harmful idiots even after they begin to withdraw should be leaving behind a substantial army of mercenaries. My prediction is that the resistance will once again try to find common ground, inter-sect. But unlike the last time (refer to the post “Who Did It?”), the resistance this time would look for the common ground through joint and/or coordinated operations. Such should diminish the ability of the colonialists, their mercenaries, and their Arab reactionary operatives to thwart a united anti-colonial front. Joint operations–or coordinated operations–could become the real test for the united front.

My prediction about joint and/or coordinated operations is based on the fact that the resistance in spite of all the collateral events will be pushed in that direction by the following occurrences:

1) The need to counter the harmful idiots’ strategy of divide-and-conquer.

2) The need to lock in a version of Islamism that is symbiotically Sunni and Shia, un-corrupt, as a new brand/ideology for the resistance. The regional powers might chime in.

For Syria this inter-sect Arab Islamic nationalism would save it from the attempts by the harmful idiots a/k/a Israelis and their allies the Saudis to lock it into a defensive posture as an Alawite regime, not an Arab nationalist one. Should the pressure on Syria increase, one should expect that secular government to visibly lean towards Islamism. It would be its next-to-ultimate defense. (The ultimate defense would be to self-disintegrate, so to speak, and prepare for guerrilla warfare with the harmful idiots a/k/a Israelis.)

(Should this government go Islamic, and bring into its security apparatus proven Islamists -- they could be Alawite, but Islamic -- our security agencies should heighten their alertness to increased terrorism. For now, the Syrians are pragmatic realists. If pressured, the Syrians may have to change. Watch the harmful idiots pressure them to achieve total domination.)

Moreover, the new inter-sect Arab Islamic nationalism would save Iran from isolation as a Persian power, not an Islamic. Iran would worry about the consequences of Arab nationalist Islamism rising in Iraq. But barring an acceptance of it by the harmful idiots, it’ll have no choice but to support this new brand of Arab Islamic nationalism. At the very least, that nationalism would have a powerful Islamic component to it on which the Islamic Republic can build.

(On second thought, Iran has no choice but to support this brand of nationalism since it’s unlikely the Israel-centered and centric harmful idiots, or the equally Israel-centered and centric Democrats, will bargain in good faith with the Iranians. The relevant “think tanks” in D.C. have been taken over by the Israel-centered and centric ones -- so one should not expect any creative long-term ideas that would tame Iran and partner with it. Only a crescendo of force and mistrust should define future US/a/k/a/Israeli-Iranian relations.)

3) The need to relieve the pressure exerted by the harmful idiots a/k/a Israelis on Hamas in Palestine. The Iraqi resistance shouldn’t be perceived as unconnected to Palestinian nationalism. Within the Iraqi Shia, Hizbollah should be keeping this connection alive. Within the Sunni, Iraqi Hamas and Syria’s proxies should be doing the same. Thinking long-term the resistance likely is aware that the suppression of Hamas might just be what the doctor had ordered -- to send it underground -- at times with Fatah’s secret approval, at times without. Once underground, it should be able to preserve much of its effectiveness. Underground too its leaders would rejuvenate, younger and even less corrupt. The absence of corruption is at the heart of the popularity of the Islamists. The Islamic nationalists not only provide services to the poor. They offer an alternative of honest Abes to the disgustingly corrupt Arab assets (the large-scale thieves) of the harmful idiots.

(Political scientists have always known that some corruption is necessary to get things done. But the thievery by the harmful idiots' Arab assets is of historic proportions.)

In other words, the Iraqi resistance now holds the key to saving the entire Arab World of its dismal fate as the region where the harmful idiots apply their harmfully idiotic and self-referential theories (e.g., “counter-insurgency,” making the realm safe for Israel) and as a result wreak havoc in the life of people and nations. I think a joint Sunni-Shia operation against the mercenaries might be on the mind of the resistance as a way of fostering an trust-me-I-trust-you path to building a Sunni-Shia anti-colonial front. I have no evidence. I proceed with the conviction that others are smart and learn from their mistakes. And from that conviction I extrapolate.

Will be back.

RETHINKING THE SECRET AGREEMENT TO WITHDRAW, THE DANSE-A-TROIS, AND FOSTERING ISLAMISM IN PALESTINE.

third draft

Okay, so there may not be a specific secret agreement to withdraw and concede the role Iran and Syria possess and play in Iraq. (See prior post.) Instead, there’s a danse-a-trois among the harmful idiots, Iran, and Syria. Pouring oil into the fire, the apple of the harmful idiots’ eye joined the dance on Thursday morning by dispatching its American high tech flying wonders to buzz northeastern Syria. Perhaps a message; perhaps to unravel the code(s) to Syria’s air defenses; likely an act of desperation to shore up the spirit of the Israeli population, now in a state of pessimism about the future. Likely, too, a message from Turkey to Syria to rattle it on behalf of the harmful idiots.

Perhaps the harmful idiots had provided hints to the Iranians that they would be drawing down the number of troops on a schedule faster than that revealed publicly by U.S. commanders. Perhaps they did that as a ruse to get through the expected report by General Petraeus. Hinting to the Iranians would mean that these would order their proxies within the Iraqi resistance (those still not in U.S.-run prisons) to take it easy on U.S. troops. Which, for the harmful idiots, would achieve their goal -- a breather domestically. They now can show “success” and a light at the end of the Iraqi tunnel. This illusion of success should persuade the democrats and some republicans to ease up on the administration. The harmful idiots would have a new mandate as a result. With the new mandate, they would once again turn to subduing the country and turn it into a pliant protectorate. They would, in addition, squeeze Iran and Syria out of that protectorate, as they did the Russians and other junior imperial Europeans when they had invaded. They would, of course, for a generation, not release a substantial number of tens of thousands of young men in their prisons, as befit a colonialist power which sponsors another -- Israel. Iraqi and Palestinian young men would have to wait for history to take its course to see freedom. And that can take generations.

Oops. The Iranians catch on to this surreal ruse by the harmful idiots. It helped the Iranians see through the ruse that the harmful idiots, losing less troops, began prematurely to celebrate a new lease on extending their occupationof Iraq. Success, albeit illusory, is infectious. Their fearless leader visits the Anbar and behaves as if he had achieved final victory, his memory of recent American losses -–if he has a memory at all-- having faded. He’s happy, even strangely giddy. But about the same time, maybe a day or so later, on or about September 4, Iranian deputy foreign minister, Abbas Araqji, made a sobering comment. He had dismissed the possibility of holding yet another meeting with the harmful idiots to coordinate security in Iraq. But not fully. The decision, he said, hadn’t been made. But he did threaten that Iran would cancel the next round of talks, mainly because of what he considered U.S. escalation in Iraq. Read differently, U.S. escalation should beget Iranian, and likely a green light to Iran’s proxies within the Iraqi resistance to resume draining us. To the Iranians, the hints of early withdrawal turned out to be a surreal ruse by the harmful idiots. These aimed to buy time to get a new lease for a longer occupation and the theft of the Iraqi Shia establishment away from Iran.

(Note: I find it tragically hilarious that the harmful idiots are arming the Arab Sunni clans and tribes to stand up to al-Qaeda and, eventually, to the Shia. Hilarious because you can rest assured that these tribes will use the weapons against all, especially each other. Saddam Hussein and his Baath party had worked very hard to defuse that destructive force called the tribes -- destructive to the unity of the nation. The new colonialists are now reviving it as part of their divide-and-conquer colonialist strategy. The harmful idiots will leave Iraq. But the tribes, armed, have no place to go. The arms they received should make the upcoming Iraqi civil wars that much more violent.)

LINKAGE AND THE DANCE

The dance: Iran’s deputy foreign minister utters words and U.S. soldiers die in Iraq. The harmful idiots dispatch the air force of the apple of their eye to issue a warning to Syria. The same favored protectorate squeezes Gaza and kills more Palestinian nationalists/Islamists. And more U.S. troops die in Iraq.

This newsletter had repeatedly warned that the harmful idiots should desist from thinking that they can isolate issues in the Middle East. Linkage is real, especially now that the harmful idiots have 170,000 troops in the heart of the Arab World. Iraq links to Palestine, to Lebanon, to Yemen, to Bahrain, and, sooner or later, to Kuwait and possibly Saudi Arabia. Only in the harmful idiots’ tiny brains is Iraq an isolated issue. Or, more precisely, that they and the apple of their eye can go on the offensive here without U.S. troops or the proxies of the harmful idiots paying a price there.

YET AGAIN: THE HARMFUL IDIOTS FOSTER ISLAMISM, AND (POSSIBLY) A NEW GENERATION OF YOUNG ANTI-WESTERN TERROR RECRUITS.

In their attempt to take on issues in isolation, un-linked, the harmful idiots and the apple of their eye are egging on their new agent in Palestine -–Fatah-- to do war with Islamic Hamas on Hamas's own religious Islamic turf. One tool being used by Fatah: calls for prayer gatherings in the open to dislodge Hamas in Gaza. What’s wrong with this?

This use of religion by an otherwise (somewhat) secular agent of the harmful idiots (Fatah), shifts that organization’s political discourse from secular to Islamic. In time, the Fatah Islamic discourse should swallow Fatah itself and turn it into an Islamist force. How? It starts by youth being drawn to Fatah’s Islamic discourse, and to cargo/salaries, a gorgeous mix. (Watch the harmful idiots bring the recruits here for training!) The same youth, confirmed Islamist, half-a-generation from the present, should gobble up secular Fatah and displace the aged Abbas generation. The end result: a new and improved Fatah, now Islamist, to the left of Hamas. The national discourse would have changed as a result. The challenger to the new Islamist Fatah is likely to be...you guessed it, yet a more radical Islamist opposition. (I would allow for a scenario of a secular opposition rising again; but, in view of the population explosion, Israel’s ceaseless quest to colonize and dominate, and the Israeli prototype of the religiously-exclusive state/ghetto -- Islamism is what we will likely have, government and opposition.)

SAVE FACE FOR THE HARMFUL IDIOTS IN EXCHANGE FOR A SECRET TIMETABLE FOR WITHDRAWAL.

UPDATED! MORE ANALYTICAL SPECULATION. READ AND LAUGH.

INTRODUCTION

Have you wondered why the number of U.S. troops dying in Iraq has dwindled?

It's got nothing to do with the surge. That--the surge-was a cunning ruse. It's got everything to do with a new-found realism on the part of the Bush Admninistration. Translation: this administration has now conceded the wider role Iran and Syria possess and play in Iraq. The two seem to have agreed to provide the harmful idiots with a face-saving way out of Iraq.

Things aren't over, though. The harmful idiots need to resolve the fate of tens of thousands of Iraqi troops and functionaries who are under U.S. command and in its employ in Iraq--a state within a state. Can the harmful idiots have these integrated into the rising Iran/Syria-sponsored state? Or will these end up in the U.S. as refugees?

In retrospect, withdrawal from Iraq had begun when the surge was initiated. T'was a ruse, a cunning ruse.

SPIN

The harmful idiots are masters of spin, and nothing else. We’re now made to believe that the surge has worked. That Iraq is on its way to becoming another submissive protectorate, all thanks to 30,000 more troops. Not.

LET’S GIVE THE HARMFUL IDIOTS A FACE-SAVING WAY OUT; OR PARTNER WITH THEM.

The major reasons why attacks on U.S. troops have dwindled have little to do with the extra 30,000 troops. The relative quiet in operations is (significantly) due to the following:

1. The expectation that the harmful idiots will order troop withdrawal sooner than later. Accordingly, the local and regional players no longer see the American occupying forces as the main element to defeat. That war’s been won. The Pentagon/Jewish Right Iraq Project is no more. The local and regional players now are preoccupied with what’s coming after the withdrawal.

2 Iran knows it owns the Maliki government and SCIRI, however much the harmful idiots pay these. Iran, too, has been able to persuade Syria to accept the Maliki government, if only to provide the needed face-saving way out for the harmful idiots.

As a result of Iranian pressure/persuasion, Syria welcomed Maliki and should be welcoming the SCIRI/Badr Corps Deputy to the Iraqi President, Adel Abdel Mahdi, to Damascus. (Abdel Mahdi just canceled for the second time his trip to Damascus and other Arab countries.) It got a pay-off worth over $1.2 billion per year: Maliki agreed to the reactivation of the Kirkuk-Banias pipeline. Under Iranian pressure/persuasion, I suspect, Syria now has even changed its discourse. Prior to the new face-saving phase (give-a-face-saving-way -out-to-the-harmful-idiots), Syria’s Prime Minister would state that national reconciliation in Iraq would occur only after the harmful idiots had ordered withdrawal of their occupying forces. The new language: national reconciliation in Iraq would hasten the withdrawal of the occupying forces.

3. Evidence is mounting that both Iran and Syria are in fact cooperating in security matters with the harmful idiots in Iraq, whether directly or through the Maliki government. Hence , in part, the relative quiet. For instance, on or about August 30, Iran warned the harmful idiots that it would cease its cooperation with them in Iraq if the harmful idiots didn’t stop harassing Iranian nationals in that country. In other words, Iran is cooperating. For its part, Syria’s welcome of the Dawa Maliki and its willingness to welcome the Badr Brigade/Corps Abdel Mahdi was, too, an indication of cooperation with the harmful idiots. The Shia government is the harmful idiots’ pick as they prepare for a face-saving honorable withdrawal or, in the more likely alternative, a partnership with Iran and Syria in the oil-rich country. Never forget that the harmful idiots went out to bat for that government (Maliki’s) when they blackmailed the Saudis to cease and desist from their not-so-secret funding of the Arab Sunni Islamist opposition to that government in Iraq and their allowing of Saudi al Qaeda fighters to stream into Iraq to defend the Arab Sunni.

The chances for success for the Iranian/Syrian-U.S. partnership in Iraq: next to zero. Both for now are playing for short-term advantages.

The harmful idiots’ goal is to protect the shadow government they have created in Iraq–armed brigades which respond exclusively to American command (an American Iraqi foreign legion) and at least one Iraqi intelligence service, controlled in full by the harmful idiots, which targets Iran almost exclusively. They would need to stay indefinitely to protect this San Diego-bound shadow government if only to persuade the Shia establishment (SCIRI, Dawa, Maliki, and whoever comes after him) not to ally itself too closely with Iran and Syria. In other words, the harmful idiots cannot withdraw. If they do, the shadow government they had created to assist them in their occupation, will founder, almost certainly. Need I belabor the point that such is so highly stressful (for the troops and for the American public) that it’s eminently unworkable? Yet, the harmful idiots don’t believe they have a choice. The lesser evil for them would be to accept partnership with Iran and Syria; that is, if these two accept to partner with them for the long haul. And they would only if a bunch of their demands are met, some of which should involve colonialist concessions by the apple of America’s eye. Capitol Hill should stand in the way. Hence the predicament of an eventual withdrawal and total debacle. Still, cooperation by Iran and Syria must've cost some concessions, possibly a secret timetable provided the two countries for withdrawal of some of the troops.

Such timetable, if handed (in secret) to Iran, should buy the harmful idiots some time, though it would not ease the bind they're in. The withdrawal of some of the troops should please the Iranians for two reasons. First, such withdrawal should consolidate Iran's hold over the Iraqi Shia establishment; and, second, keeping U.S. troops in Iraq is akin to an insurane policy against an Amerian attack against Iranian sites, especially nuclear.

WAR...OF WORDS AND THE ISRAELI ATTEMPT TO DRAW US IN.

Meanwhile, the harmful idiots and the Iranians go on waging their psychological wars. I’ve been noticing the Iranians improve on their methods of propaganda. This warfare likely had been adapted from the harmful idiot Office of Special Plans, though the Iranians seem to be better at it mainly because they have the ability to deliver. True to their respective cultures, however, each party is stuck with what persuades its own. The harmful idiots, for instance, have their assets in think tanks and newspapers overseas tell us scientifically how devastating a U.S. attack on Iran would be, and that it should take place soon–almost certainly within the next six months. The Iranians in contrast use a more traditional approach: You do this, and we’ll castrate you in Iraq and the region. The Iranians use images such as fire and hell, not statistics, probabilities, or laboratory terminology.

A war on Iran, even if the U.S. is no longer in Iraq, would be too costly for all, including the world’s economy, though admittedly less costly for the harmful idiots. (The war for the harmful idiots should force the wished for repatriation/recycling of the petrodollars. Time to get into the market and sit and wait. DO NOT LISTEN TO ME. I’m NOT a qualified financial analyst.) As this newsletter in the past has reminded its compatriots, the harmful idiots, Iran and Syria are smarter than they. By now, both countries should’ve improved on their already elaborate plans to “disintegrate” their states and spread into Iraq and what other countries they can, especially Lebanon, Kuwait, and possibly Bahrain. Barring a full war, Iran has its “shu3ub” to protect it, as Iran’s foreign minister, a couple of postings ago, had reminded the harmful idiots.

(I had wrongly translated that word to mean “masses.” Sh3ub is plural for Sha3b–people; starting with the fictional Adam and Eve, or the probably equally fictional Lucy and whoever had mated with her, that first people–Shae3b- would have spun a branch or more–other shu3ub, and so on. Until we reach Saadah in Yemen, or Bahrain, or Lebanon, or the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia–all of the places where Arab Shia shu3ub reside and reproduce.)

We no longer hear about the harmful idiots’ precious protectorate doing what this superb miracle of a country can do: A swift and unique attack on Iran to remind Arabs, Iranians, and Muslims to be good Uncle Toms. To reverse their steady progress towards total and absolute militarism, a microcosm of its benefactor, without the commercial and technological vibrancy. For instance, Iran is said to be re-building an impressive network of missiles in Lebanon to empty out northern Israel in the next war, should the miracle country attack it. And I’m certain Hizbollah is working on contingency plans, a few surprises of its own.

Meanwhile, Israel is looking to entice the harmful idiots/Empire to need it. It can’t attack Iran and not pay too dear a price. What’s it to do with all this military cargo being delivered by the harmful idiots, nearly daily, to show its usefulness? (Probably give some more to the Darfur rebels.) Having become strategically insignificant, a burden, it’s left to make a big deal out of nothing-- a hypothetical plan that Russia has to build a naval base at the Syrian port of Tartus. Frankly, this is getting old. Not only is the Russian navy not incredibly threatening, but a base in Tartus adds little to what Russia can do without it. It’ll be wasted Russian money.

THE SAUDIS; THE EGYPTIANS.

There once was a time when Egypt had defended the Arab nation. Then the cheap, greedy, and shortsighted Saudis proved so financially unreliable that they drove Anwar al-Sadat into the lap of the Americans. He did a volte face and decided that securing cargo is best done via the United States. Egypt, as defender of the Arab nation, fell by the wayside. Lebanon exploded as a result. Syria was left alone to mind the front against the modern-day colonialists. Iraq was stuck all alone in defending the Arab nation’s eastern front–in effect, to protect the Kuwaitis, the Saudis, and the other Gulf Arabs.

Then the harmful idiots dismantled Arab Iraq. The Gulf Arabs became exposed. The harmful idiots couldn’t protect these since the wars in the Middle East no longer were exclusively conventional. Sadly for the Gulf Arabs, the harmful idiots are good at that–conventional war–and, allied to Israel, are otherwise a burden to Arab governments, unconventionally. Arab nationalism had worked to vitiate Islamic fundamentalism. Within Iraq, Arab nationalism–imperfect though it may have been–still had provided an ideology to unite Shia and Sunni within the Iraqi armed forces and motivate them to balance Iranian power.

Having lost their protector, the Saudis and the Egyptians are torn. They know the harmful idiots cannot protect the Saudis. (The Egyptians need not fear any conqueror lest that conqueror goes bankrupt and runs out of wheat.) They know the only fighting army they have isn’t their respective official armies. These are kept weak, especially in Saudi Arabia, to avoid coups. Their only effective army is the Islamist one–al-Qaeda for the Saudis and Hamas for the Egyptians. Odly both governments feel threatened by the very Islamist army they so cherish and need. The Saudis would want al-Qaeda in Iraq, fighting the Shia and Iran; the Egyptians would want Hamas where it is–in Gaza–reminding the modern-day colonialists of their place. Al Qaeda isn’t welcome inside the Kingdom. In Egypt, the government has been waging a relentless campaign to repress the Muslim Brothers–the very same people as Hamas. The principle is the same: we need the Islamists as a fighting force, but not within our borders.

In Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Egypt are insignificant, in spite of all the money the Saudis are likely dumping in that country and the Saudi al-Qaeda fighters reaching it to defend the Arab Sunni. Al Qaeda, at any rate, is only one of a number of Sunni Islamist organizations. Some of these, e.g., Ansar al-Sunnah, aren’t necessarily anti-Iranian or anti-Shia. Ominous for the established Arab governments: their support for the Sunni Islamists in Iraq could spill over into Jordan, itself an Islamist powder keg.

SOLUTION: BACK TO BASICS.

The Syrians are right. They repeatedly insist that a resolution of this or that should be a comprehensive settlement–not the piecemeal enterprise the harmful idiots customarily prefer. That game now has come back to bite the harmful idiots in the ass. The price of the piecemeal approach has proved costly.

It would be too much to repeat the obvious here. It’s worthwhile, however, to pay attention to one element of American policy: the alleged interest in fighting terrorism and how the piecemeal approach itself creates possibilities for the same.

Consider this: The harmful idiots are said to be organizing five brigades to fight for Fatah and Mahmoud Abbas. To exclude Hamas from any Palestinian future. Hamas has said it more than once: that the harmful idiots and their Israeli ally are working hard to prevent reconciliation between Fatah and Hamas. This makes light of the capability of the Islamists to infiltrate the very Palestinian troops the harmful idiots are putting together. The concept of vetting, which figures highly in the world of the harmful idiots–where all happens in a laboratory, a controlled environment where they can account and measure for all possibilities–is sophomoric. The Fatah troops will be infiltrated.

Transpose this into Iraq. Does anyone have a doubt that, after withdrawal, a huge number of Iraqis who collaborated with the harmful idiots would end up in this country? Most of the shadow government? Islamists are bound to have infiltrated that government, too. I would be surprised that they didn’t. Can you imagine the magnitude of the task necessary to vet a huge migrating government. (Note to self: buy property in San Diego.)

I have an idea: Send these to Israel. Have Old Woman Time vet them in that burden of a state which is looking for a role to shed the image of being a strategic sinker. Three years later, bring the Iraqis to San Diego. Be aware that half of them by then would’ve become Mosad agents and informants. No worry, unleash them against the editor of this blog. He’s got experience.
