ON HOLD TEMPORARILY WHILE THE HARMFUL IDIOTS’ MERCENARIES HAVE THEIR WAY WITH ARABS.
first rough draft
Here I am whiling away at the nursing home. Meanwhile, my friend Betty, the president of our specialized bar, introduces herself to my clients and shows up in court for me. They’re happy to see an attractive and handsome woman instead of a bald guy.
Don’t be vexed: I’ll be preoccupied for a while, waiting for a death, an American death at a nursing home-- the new assembly line in today’s America. Colleagues buy old American trucks, nostalgic about the days when we made real products here and those who made them took pride and gained a real income. Now in the new assembly lines we process each other. At the nursing home, I suspect they make near minimum wage, certainly nothing that allows them to rent an efficiency in D.C. Poor they: they hold on to their comatose patients like dear life–afraid to lose that wage, near-minimum though it might be.
Our fearless leaders at the White House, the Federal Reserve, and at trade agencies squirm about trying to jump-start a manufacturing revival by engineering a run on the dollar. But China, the likely target of this strategy, has a few hundred million rural laborers to go. Until these are integrated in the so-called global economy, no amount of devaluing of the dollar should ignite that wished for revival in manufacturing. Put differently, even with the dollar at its lowest, it should still be cheaper to manufacture in China. Likely yet another bubble should emerge from the policy of aggressive devaluation, and only some revival of manufacturing. What these fearful leaders need to do is raise taxes, especially on gasoline. But no one dares.
While I while away and Betty attends to my business the harmful idiots stubbornly ignite civil wars, destroy countries, divide-to-conquer, and orphan yet more children, mostly Arab but American too.
Who cares? Either way, they’re other peoples’ children. Right?
WILL THE IRAQI RESISTANCE BRIDGE THE SECTARIAN DIVIDE?
My mind lately has been pondering over the likely response by the Iraqi resistance for the recent mass murder of civilians by the harmful idiots’ mercenaries and the harmful idiots’ colonial policy to divide and conquer. Not to mention the alternative plan of other imperial harmful idiots: to federalize Iraq and assure its future weakness lest it rises again and balance Israeli power.
For the benefit of this blog’s international readers, I should mention that these mercenaries are there because in the U.S. they’d be working at near-minimum wage as security guards or at Wal-Mart selling Chinese-made products. At best, they’d be police officers assigned the task of encircling the rebels and the poor of inner-city America.
Instead these mercenaries find themselves in an Arab country, having their way with all, civilians included. I bet that to them all Arabs are alike. Only to their leaders are there tolerable friendly rich Arabs who can make them rich when they leave office (e.g., the Carlyle Group)-– the gloriously corrupt assets of the harmful idiots -- and the rest are terrorists.
The fact that the United States relies so heavily on mercenaries in Iraq is testimony to the disgust -- even revulsion -- we feel to have to do this: handle unappreciative Arabs. We despise these Arabs, and only like the ones who appreciate our cargo or the multitude in the Arab media who are on our payroll. We so despise them that we send them our unemployed and under-employed trigger-happy security guards, not draftees, not soldiers who respond (some times) to international conventions.
Been thinking: Will the Iraqi resistance retaliate? That resistance is stuck in the sectarian mold, which had served it well to defeat the American Jewish Right’s project to secure Israel’s realm. That’s passe. The resistance now has seen the harmful idiots, the colonialists they are, use the very same sectarian divide to re-conquer them. To suppress the younger generation and align with the ancien regimes. But the harmful idiots have added a twist: they’re pushing along intra-sectarian divisions:
“The American plan now is , apparently, is to extend the Anbar model and create ‘bottom-up’ solutions throughout Iraq. For example, I’m told that U.S. commanders met recently with the Shiite political organization known as the Supreme Islamic Iraqi Council and gave a green light for its Badr Organization militia to control security in Nasiriyyah and some other areas in southern Iraq and thereby check the power of Moqtada al-Sadr’s Mahdi Army. We’re imposing ourselves here in an intra-Shiite battle we barely understand.”
David Ignatius, “Shaky Allies in Anbar,” washingtonpost.com , Sept 20, 2007, at A 21.
Through it all, the resistance knows that the harmful idiots even after they begin to withdraw should be leaving behind a substantial army of mercenaries. My prediction is that the resistance will once again try to find common ground, inter-sect. But unlike the last time (refer to the post “Who Did It?”), the resistance this time would look for the common ground through joint and/or coordinated operations. Such should diminish the ability of the colonialists, their mercenaries, and their Arab reactionary operatives to thwart a united anti-colonial front. Joint operations–or coordinated operations–could become the real test for the united front.
My prediction about joint and/or coordinated operations is based on the fact that the resistance in spite of all the collateral events will be pushed in that direction by the following occurrences:
1) The need to counter the harmful idiots’ strategy of divide-and-conquer.
2) The need to lock in a version of Islamism that is symbiotically Sunni and Shia, un-corrupt, as a new brand/ideology for the resistance. The regional powers might chime in.
For Syria this inter-sect Arab Islamic nationalism would save it from the attempts by the harmful idiots a/k/a Israelis and their allies the Saudis to lock it into a defensive posture as an Alawite regime, not an Arab nationalist one. Should the pressure on Syria increase, one should expect that secular government to visibly lean towards Islamism. It would be its next-to-ultimate defense. (The ultimate defense would be to self-disintegrate, so to speak, and prepare for guerrilla warfare with the harmful idiots a/k/a Israelis.)
(Should this government go Islamic, and bring into its security apparatus proven Islamists -- they could be Alawite, but Islamic -- our security agencies should heighten their alertness to increased terrorism. For now, the Syrians are pragmatic realists. If pressured, the Syrians may have to change. Watch the harmful idiots pressure them to achieve total domination.)
Moreover, the new inter-sect Arab Islamic nationalism would save Iran from isolation as a Persian power, not an Islamic. Iran would worry about the consequences of Arab nationalist Islamism rising in Iraq. But barring an acceptance of it by the harmful idiots, it’ll have no choice but to support this new brand of Arab Islamic nationalism. At the very least, that nationalism would have a powerful Islamic component to it on which the Islamic Republic can build.
(On second thought, Iran has no choice but to support this brand of nationalism since it’s unlikely the Israel-centered and centric harmful idiots, or the equally Israel-centered and centric Democrats, will bargain in good faith with the Iranians. The relevant “think tanks” in D.C. have been taken over by the Israel-centered and centric ones -- so one should not expect any creative long-term ideas that would tame Iran and partner with it. Only a crescendo of force and mistrust should define future US/a/k/a/Israeli-Iranian relations.)
3) The need to relieve the pressure exerted by the harmful idiots a/k/a Israelis on Hamas in Palestine. The Iraqi resistance shouldn’t be perceived as unconnected to Palestinian nationalism. Within the Iraqi Shia, Hizbollah should be keeping this connection alive. Within the Sunni, Iraqi Hamas and Syria’s proxies should be doing the same. Thinking long-term the resistance likely is aware that the suppression of Hamas might just be what the doctor had ordered -- to send it underground -- at times with Fatah’s secret approval, at times without. Once underground, it should be able to preserve much of its effectiveness. Underground too its leaders would rejuvenate, younger and even less corrupt. The absence of corruption is at the heart of the popularity of the Islamists. The Islamic nationalists not only provide services to the poor. They offer an alternative of honest Abes to the disgustingly corrupt Arab assets (the large-scale thieves) of the harmful idiots.
(Political scientists have always known that some corruption is necessary to get things done. But the thievery by the harmful idiots' Arab assets is of historic proportions.)
In other words, the Iraqi resistance now holds the key to saving the entire Arab World of its dismal fate as the region where the harmful idiots apply their harmfully idiotic and self-referential theories (e.g., “counter-insurgency,” making the realm safe for Israel) and as a result wreak havoc in the life of people and nations. I think a joint Sunni-Shia operation against the mercenaries might be on the mind of the resistance as a way of fostering an trust-me-I-trust-you path to building a Sunni-Shia anti-colonial front. I have no evidence. I proceed with the conviction that others are smart and learn from their mistakes. And from that conviction I extrapolate.
Will be back.
