THE AXIS OF THE HARMFUL-‘N-USELESS (SAUDI ARABIA, ISRAEL, AND EGYPT- THE-UNCLE-TOM) THREATEN CIVIL WAR IN LEBANON.

First draft.

If only you knew how painful a place can be

In our country

And end in Karbala

SUMMARY.

On or about August 27, Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, dropped in on Beirut. The Western press said his visit was meant to lessen tension between Israel and Lebanon. But it wasn’t. As only a self-hating Arab reactionary would, Aboul Gheit came over to communicate two threats to Lebanon: (1) to unleash the axis’s Israeli bully on Lebanon; and (2) to unleash the Sunni Islamists to set off a civil war in that country and hope to spread that war to Syria. Neither threat can be taken seriously. For one, the reactionaries’ bully would end up paying a dear price for unleashing against Lebanon. For another, Saudi Arabia’s Tripoli Islamists are likely being hounded by Syria’s intelligence service, the Lebanese Army’s, Hezbollah, and the Alawite community of Tripoli. The latter by now should be armed to the teeth and ready for the upcoming confrontation.

Aboul Gheit was doing an errand for Saudi intelligence and Israel, no more no less.

THE SELF-HATING ARAB COMMUNICATOR OF DOOM.

While Aboul Gheit was in Lebanon, the Chairman of Egypt’s People’s Council (parliament), Mustapha al-Faqi, called on the Arabs to draw Syria closer to them and away from Iran. Nothing new. The axis of the harmful-‘n-useless, in part on behalf of the harmful idiots, for a long while has been trying to recruit Syria away from Iran. But Egypt should be the last one to succeed at that, albeit it’s trying so hard to show that it is useful to the harmful idiots, their influential Israelis and their American diaspora, and the paying Saudis.

(Egypt became useless a long time ago when it left the ranks of the Arabs and split off to sign a separate peace agreement with Israel without Syria and the Palestinians.) And Syria knows the score: you build it up as a regional power, then emaciate it under all sorts of lies, then assault it, then hang its ruling elite high – all while the “brothers” sit on their fat ass or on top of their piles of harem. Or better yet: you tie it down to all sorts of economic enslavement measures a la IMF then cause bread riots to weaken it.

The Israeli threats against Lebanon had been a near-weekly phenomenon. For instance, on or about August 20, Israel’s Prime Minister warned Lebanon that Israel would devastate its infrastructure (yet again) for the influence Hezbollah has in that country. Hezbollah’s Nasrallah replied on or about August 24 that his party was ready to reap as much destruction onto Israel as Israel on Lebanon. Muhammad Raad, Hezbollah’s caucus chief in the Lebanese Parliament, said that his party would dispatch 11,000 missiles on Israel should that country carry out its threats. There had been earlier threats by Israel, by Defense Minister Barak, both from Israel and most recently from Egypt.

In Beirut, Mr. Aboul Gheit claimed that he had told Defense Minister Barak “to stop the threats against this Arab country [Lebanon] [that is] a friend.” ( Quite a demotion since Lebanon had always been Egypt’s younger brother. Now it’s only a friend.)

He spoke about “a situation that brings us worry in the city of Tripoli and the movements/currents which threaten a clash/war.” He warned all Lebanese to be alert so that “a spark doesn’t lead to a situation that isn’t good.” To be clear, he added that “Egypt’s priorities in Lebanon [include] the prevention of the renewal of the civil war [which would be] scary...”

Another thing: he said that relations between on the one hand Syria and on the other Saudi Arabia and Egypt would improve depending on what happens in Lebanon. On or about August 15/16, Saudi King Abdallah had visited Egypt and Lebanese Prime Minister Seniora was there and had met with Mubarak. (The quotations are my translation.)

ANALYSIS.

What’s Aboul Gheit up to?

When Hezbollah in May had routed the Saudi Foreign Legion of mercenaries, including Jordanians and Israelis, from West Beirut and the Shouf, it had in effect kicked out Saudi Arabia from Lebanon. Be mindful that Saudi Arabia had owned Lebanon when it had , along with the harmful idiots, dispatched the late Rafiq al-Hariri who became Prime Minister and put that office to good personal and family use by robbing the country blind. His obscene corruption and unquenchable greed robbed the “Saudi state” in Lebanon of what legitimacy it had. (The “Saudi state” in Lebanon is the office of the Prime Minister which was made powerful by the Taef agreement that had ended the Lebanese civil war. Many assert that the Saudis paid off the Lebanese deputies to parliament substantial bribes to enact “reforms” which would result–and did result–in the office of Prime Minister gaining power vis-a-vis the Maronite Presidency.)

Hariri’s extreme corruption and grand theft of Lebanon’s purse ended the Sunni phase of governance of Lebanon fairly fast, but only after he is alleged to have pocketed an estimated $17 billion. Bye, bye legitimacy. What helped the process along was the decision by Hariri to stand up to the Syrians. Possibly he had assessed that there wasn’t much left to steal in Lebanon. As with many, Hariri made the mistake of believing that the Americans can help him. He needed 500,000 fighting troops; instead the CIA gave his people money for a “color revolution.” He paid for that mistake with his life. The harmful idiots were exactly that: harmful and idiots. Their analysts the sophomores told them it can be done. (It’s beyond me. Really is. I no longer am able to tell how much of all of this is intelligence stupidity and want of realism and how much is the politicization of intelligence.) It’s possible too that the harmful idiots had used all the theft information they had on Hariri to blackmail him to turn against the Syrians at a time not of his choosing, and go against his better judgement. Time will tell us.

Now Saudi intelligence is trying to regain a place for its proxies in Lebanon. The proxies continue to knock at its doors. Saudi intelligence had decided to ease up on its policy of widening the rift between Shias and Sunnis. It did it in part to allow for the tactic by the harmful idiots (and Saudi intelligence ) to buy up the Badr/Dawa state in Iraq. In part, because Saudi Arabia has a sizeable Shia minority in the Eastern Province –where most of the oil is located. Widening the rift between the Sunnis and the Shias could translate into the Saudi Shias asserting themselves politically.

After the Saudi Foreign Legion’s rout in Beirut and the Shouf, Saudi intelligence didn’t have many cards left – except for the Tripoli Salafis. It couldn’t rely on Jordan since Jordan had become part of the effort to buy up the Badr/Dawa state. Only Egypt had the freedom to act for Saudi Arabia in Lebanon. For one, Egypt has no Shias and doesn’t share borders with Iraq. For another, its regime was aching for a role to play in the region to show its benefactors (the harmful idiots and Saudi intelligence) that it was useful for something.

Aboul Gheit’s talk about a renewal of the Lebanese civil war, alluding to Tripoli, was a sorry and desperate threat. It said that Egypt (and Saudi Arabia behind it) can in fact ignite a civil war in Lebanon should the body politic of that country not allow for a significant role for the Sunni Office of Prime Minister. But not any Prime Minister. It’s got to be Saudi Arabia’s proxies: the Hariri people. (They can’t even comprehend legitimacy since they have so much money to buy it inside Saudi Arabia. If they cared about legitimacy, they would pick someone who is not a grand thief , or descendant of a grand thief, like Salim al-Hoss.) Aboul Gheit’s assertion that what happens in Lebanon would determine the state of relations between Saudi Arabia and his country and Syria confirms that his trip and his threats were all about regaining a role for the Saudi proxies.

Thus viewed, his assertion that Egypt didn’t appreciate Israeli threats against Lebanon was in fact another threat : that Egypt and Saudi Arabia were willing to use the Israeli bully to return the Saudi proxies to a position of power in Lebanon. (There was a rumor circulating about that Saudi intelligence had paid for the Israeli assault on Lebanon in 2006.)

Ominous: it’s now clear beyond a doubt that Saudi intelligence, via Hariri/Seniora, is financing the Tripoli Salafis. Money is fungible. Money with the Tripoli Salafis should end up anywhere: Algeria, Europe, the United States. We are returning to pre-September 11 dynamics. Saudi intelligence, as seen in Aboul Gheit’s words, is operating under the illusion that it can set off a civil war in Lebanon that would spread to Syria. It’s an illusion, no more. From an American national security perspective, Saudi intelligence should be told to stop doling out money to Islamists lest this money ends up funding a terror operation against Americans. And to stop its proxies from doling out their own (formerly the Lebanese purse's) money. Desperation, incompetence, and the need to “do something” in the end are no excuse to financing people who are one-and-the-same as al-Qaeda.

Is Saudi intelligence retaliating for Hezbollah’s rout of the Saudi Foreign Legion? Yes. Can Saudi intelligence succeed? Highly, highly unlikely. By now, the Lebanese Army’s intelligence Service, Syria’s, and Hezbollah should be hounding each and every Islamist in Tripoli. Plus: weapons should be flowing with abandon to the Alawite community in that city. If it’s a civil war, it’ll be one limited to the Bab-el-Tebbaneh neighborhood and the area around it – a tough nut of a neighborhood to crack, but crack-able nonetheless. (There was a time long ago when Lebanese soldiers were asked not to ever enter that neighborhood to shop, nor even pass by it.) Expect the Lebanese army to use Sunni soldiers against that neighborhood since that army allows its soldiers to serve in their provinces, and the north is mostly Sunni. Michel Suleiman may try to subdue that neighborhood without using any commandos (as he did in Nahr el-Bared) since these would include Shias and Christians, to keep the matter intra-Sunni. He may not be able to.

I pity the people of Tripoli, especially the neighborhoods which will be involved. Though I was in the U.S. during the Lebanese civil war, my parents, siblings and many of my relatives were in Lebanon. And I’d be there visiting when major battles would erupt. And I’ve run scared while shells were whistling above my head. And I’ve slept in shelters and on staircases. And I’ve had my stomach cramp up when the shells would begin to fly and shrapnel explode against walls. And I’ve heard about my sister being a target for a Palestinian sniper from the Jisr-al-Basha refugee camp. And my mother a target for a sniper from Tal el-Zaatar. And I’ve driven what later I called the “trip of death,” through Syrian and Lebanese Forces’s lines, from Beirut to Jiita, where we became refugees living at friends’ homes, sleeping on their couches. And my parents had become refugees many times over, and once had had to rent a former chicken coop in which to live, houses for rent having been exhausted in Kisrouan. And I’ve heard about corpses brought back to the neighborhood (a Beirut suburb) of people who were murdered based on their religion. So I pity those neighborhoods in Tripoli from where Mr. Aboul Gheit and Saudi intelligence want to launch their Lebanese civil war.

May they not live the same fate. May they continue to please Israel, the protector of their privileges and wealth through its diaspora and its influence in the U.S. Congress, and dodge a Palestinian state so that we all go through civil wars for Israel’s sake, sponsored and armed to the teeth by the harmful idiots.

Advice to the harmful idiots: tell the Egyptian regime, your pet, to have some dignity and stop stooping so low as a slave. It’s humiliating for once such a great and Arab (once) nation as Egypt. Tell them, too, that all are aware of the tension between their Sunnis and their Christian Copts. That it wouldn’t take that much to fund that tension by anyone who wants to retaliate. And, harmful idiots: do get ready and Europe, wih contingency plans, to welcome the hundreds of thousands of Copts when these become refugees as the millions you and your right wing Jews have minted in Iraq.

PROJECT IRAQ’S NEXT PHASE: THE HARMFUL IDIOTS’ UNCLE TOMS HEAD TO BAGHDAD.

first draft

To a dear Buffalo friend, now that we’re wiser, not. I gave it a thought. Here’s my best shot.

INTRODUCTION.

My assessment of the harmful idiots’ Iraq Project likely would’ve been different but for the fact that I’m aware that their occupation of an Arab country, even mere presence, fuels Islamism and extremism. Until further notice: Islamism is resistance to colonialism, to obscene corruption, to alpha dog-pillaging of resources, and to colonial settlements. Recently I was reading an open editorial in an Arab newspaper. It dismayed the author that Islamic websites were poking fun at Mahmoud Darwish, the foremost Palestinian Arab poet who had recently passed away. To the Arab Islamists Mahmoud Darwish represented a generation of failed resistance, obscene corruption, and failed liberation. Theirs, forever renewed thanks to a hyper reproductive rate, will correct this failure. The author of the article, likely older, couldn’t fathom such disrespect for the non-Islamic poet. But he shouldn’t have been so surprised. The harmful idiots and their Israelis have so exhausted the Arab public, finishing each and every unity hope it’d nursed, to the point of fueling Islamism, both political and social. Grant it, this continued assault on the Arabs and their hopes has added to each generation’s sophistication in resisting the Israelis and their sponsors. It has taught each generation to hone its resistance – to fight stealthily, unconventionally, to organize secretly, all while bridging the technological divide. But that hardly builds the united Arab or Muslim nation that one generation-after-another so hopes to put together. Still, the direct, armed, and naked aggression against Arab Iraq has convinced the younger generations that the assault on them and their dreams by the harmful idiots and Israel’s right wing diaspora will continue until these are made to stop. The young ones could see that, after September 11, the harmful idiots didn’t focus on Afghanistan and Pakistan for fair justice. But on weakened, defenseless, and uninvolved oil-rich Arab Iraq, a foe of their Israel. In other words, the assault on Arab Iraq by the combination of Israel’s right-wing diaspora and the harmful idiots should continue to fuel the new Islamism. This force’s colors will change but its fuel will be the direct presence in the heart of the Arab World of U.S. troops allied to Israeli colonialists. It just won’t end.

The harmful idiots would like to stay in the heart of the Arab World, as they do in South Korea. They’ve made that clear. (Forget the 2011 deadline. Yet another time-buying ruse. ) The idea is to control oil and increase Iraqi production. By increasing production the harmful idiots would hope to bust resource nationalism worldwide by glutting the oil market, to control China’s supplies, and to rob Russia, China, and Iran of global influence by directing the routes of pipelines. In addition, the harmful idiots want to be close to the Islamic Republic, Dona Quixote, to assault it as soon as the opportunity arises. Or to poke at it endlessly until it caves in to...no one knows what. Again and again I’ve warned that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRG) isn’t stupid. Likely it has evolved plans to disintegrate its own state and fight a guerrilla war any time the danger to its hold on power is threatened beyond a threshold that will be outlined as it happens. IRG has learned from the example of Arab Iraq. It’ll not wait until it is weakened, emaciated, then broken to pieces. It’ll be ready; it highly likely is ready. Only the harmful idiots and their Israelis refuse to learn and eternally hope conquered people will like them.

BRING IN THE ARAB UNCLE TOMS.

Barring a major military confrontation between the harmful idiots and Islamic Dona Quixote, how are the harmful idiots planning for the next phase of their oil-and-war-anchored-in-love-for-Israel Iraq Project? (You thought I’d forgotten who played such a pivotal role in dismembering Arab Iraq, didn’t you?) Are they? Besides contingency plans to move their harmful idiot “lily pads” to their nouveau Israel – Iraqi Kurdistan – what else?

The harmful idiots seem to hold dear to the moronic idea that opening Arab embassies in Baghdad (and bringing in associated zillions of Arab intelligence operatives and Arab Gulf mercenaries, many of whom on our payroll – e.g., Jordanians and Egyptians) will balance Iran’s influence in Iraq. I’d chalk up this sort of thinking to desperation, of which the harmful idiots should have plenty, albeit they’ve always been victims (the only ones!) of their own job-creation optimistic spin. But, with history in mind, it’d be dishonest. I’ve got to chalk it up to plain, abject, laughable, sophomoric, silly, trite and, in the end, tragic (for the Iraqis for the loss of their country and for us mostly in bankruptcy and in digging our own hole) harmful idiocy.

LET’S HAVE OUR UNCLE TOMS OPEN EMBASSIES.

First was Jordan, our most reliable ally. Read: servile and loving of our Israel. It announced that it’ll be opening an embassy in Baghdad. Glorious. To the harmful idiots “Arab” means their pathetic regimes, their dependents, the obscenely corrupt and rich, their reactionary forces. But Arab, too, is the Arab public. And though the harmful idiots have placed tens of thousands of the Arab Sunnis on the payroll (and still imprison over 20,000, not to mention those imprisoned by their “ally,” the Badr/Dawa state) – even these (the ones on the payroll) are aware that the harmful idiots and Israel’s right-wing diaspora had finished their country; and that time is proving that the harmful idiots are useless when it comes to re-uniting their beloved Iraq. And what re-uniting they have in mind is of the “federal” kind, the splintered kind. As if the Arab public, including the Iraqi Arab Sunnis, think that Jordan can help them re-unite Iraq; that it isn’t a base for our CIA and does its bidding first, hardly theirs. Ha! And that it isn’t a close ally of Israel, doing its bidding, too. Ha, again! From an objective vantage point, it’s lucky Jordan itself has remained a united entity, let alone being able to re-unite an important country as Iraq. Jordan’s King makes a visit to Baghdad, in part about embassy in part about getting oil at discounted prices. Jordan, the ally of Saudi Arabia. They haven’t always been allies. But ever since they wanted to dam the Shias in the Gulf, and Iran, they’d become close buddies.

THE SAUDI FOREIGN LEGION: DEFEAT IN BEIRUT PRODUCES A BEIRUT-LIKE PROJECT – IN BAGHDAD.

After their defeat in Beirut Saudi Arabia and Jordan changed tactics. They’ve shifted from one sophomoric to another no less sophomoric. This happened in good part thanks to their rout. In Beirut, Hezbollah humiliated the Saudis and the Jordanians when it forced an evacuation of hundreds of their mercenaries. (The Saudis have the money to seemingly form a virtual Saudi Foreign Legion; in a couple of years they went from @ a $50 billion state to one of over $220 bn.) Saudi intelligence, working with the harmful idiots, the Israelis, and the Jordanians, had dispatched to Beirut (via Hariri bin Saud, working through Seniora bin Hariri bin Saud -- the beneficiaries of the Pillager of that poor Lebanon, the Pillager with no genes for self-control in greed and grand theft, an asset (typically!) of the harmful idiots) and the Shouf (via Jumblatt ben Yehuda ben Israel, yesterday’s Arab nationalist is today’s Israeli agent) to attack Hezbollah’s rear lines and preoccupy it away from their dear, dear Israel. The same Israel which they hope will protect their money and their privileges by its ability to manipulate the foreign policy and armies of their protector - the harmful idiots. As Hezbollah kicked the Saudi Foreign Legion’s ass, these called for help from Israel. Israel cunningly thought to itself: hey, we don’t need 40,000 missiles flying into Israeli cities. We’re not ready; not yet. As a result of this kind of shrewd thinking, the Israeli reactionaries conveniently let the Saudi Foreign Legion run for harmful idiots’ boats, which took them from Christian Mount Lebanon to Cyprus -- their Saudi mercenary moneyed tails tucked between their legs.

ON OUR WAY TO BAGHDAD, TO REPEAT BEIRUT WITH ONE DIFFERENCE: WE HAVE 145,000 AMERICAN MERCENARIES (PLUS 145,000 DEFENSE CONTRACTORS) IN BAGHDAD, NOT THE FEW HUNDREDS WE HAD IN BEIRUT.

Following their rout in the Shouf and Beirut, the harmful idiots’ proxies graduated from sophomores to juniors. They shed their Shia-Crescent-Rising rallying cry to divide the Arabs into Sunnis and Shias. All, in their tiny reactionary brains, to dam Iran’s influence. They’ve decided to come to terms with Iraq’s Shia Badr/Dawa Iranian state. They’ve consulted with the harmful idiots, and these with their Israeli or, more correctly, Israeli-centric advisers. Accordingly, they decided they can buy out that state away from Iran. (See prior posts.) Not only hope, but illusions too spring eternal. Saudi Arabia’s ambassador so recently went to Tripoli in north Lebanon to persuade the Salafis, financed by his intelligence service via Hariri-Seniora, not to be so anti-Shia. This stance could spill over from Tripoli into Iraq and form yet another obstacle to our attempt to buy up the Shia state with secret numbered Swiss bank accounts. (See prior posts.)

Buying the Badr/Dawa state beats doing the right thing – pursuing a policy of encouraging a grassroots wave of Arab unity and re-distributing wealth while fighting obscene corruption. God forbid. That would be too natural and powerful. And would threaten our dearest. Instead, the harmful idiots want to keep the Arabs splintered to smithereens, as they do Iraq. And as they now are threatening to do to non-Arab Iran.

(The harmful idiots through their eavesdropping know tons. For example, recently I read that they had listened in on the late Benazir Buttho’s phone conversation with her son in which she had given him her numbered accounts in Switzerland, likely hosting hundreds of millions of dollars of the Pakistani people’s stolen wealth. That kind of blackmail information allows the harmful idiots to push their “assets” to adopt policies which go beyond the limit of things and bring misery onto the people of their respective nations. The world has to wait for the harmful idiots to learn the limit of things in the unipolar world. And that will take time since, you knoooow, they’re not, you knooow... Until then the harmful idiots should do harm with abandon, against others and against us!)

The rush to Baghdad, with embassies and Arab intelligence operatives, including uncountable mercenaries, is being coupled with continued psychological warfare and threats of doom against Iran, all likely choreographed by the harmful idiots.

Mubarak, while hosting Saudi King Abdallah, threatened Iran with our troops and our armed forces. Ours troops are HIS mercenaries. (Why do these Saudis keep on trekking to politically bankrupt and useless Egypt? Answer: they’re themselves politically bankrupt and useless.) He reminded Iran ( in the presence of King Abdallah, so that the Iranians know where from the threats are coming) of what happened to Iraq and its late President. (President Mubarak doesn’t read this newsletter. If he did, he’d know that the Iranians likely have prepared for disintegrating their own state and for fighting a long-term guerrilla war, while burning down the neighborhood and its oil.) It’s as if he and his guest were giddy for what happened to Arab Iraq. How low can a slave stoop? How sick is that? How sadomasochistic! I’ve at times diagnosed people in my profession (legal–court-oriented) as sadomasochistic; but I’ve never thought beggar regimes could go that way. To enjoy the misery of a fellow Arab country and the lynching of its leaders! At the hands of Mubarak’s and Abdallah’s masters!

Qadhafi from Tunisia made similar statements. He reminded Iran that the harmful idiots are ready to split it up into ethnic and sectarian mini-states. As they did Iraq. He stooped so low as a slave would to make his sadomasochistic statement about fellow Arab Iraq and apply it to Persian Iran. The harmful idiots likely choreographed his statement, making it a requirement of the Lockerbie settlement deal, as they did Mubarak’s. The slaves have no shame.

THE U.A.E., KUWAIT, EGYPT, AND SAUDI ARABIA.

Then came the United Arab Emirates. It’s an extension at the intelligence level of the harmful idiots, and a free-for-all, including al-Qaeda and Iran, at the market level. It followed Jordan’s lead. It forgave Iraq’s debts, those incurred when Iraq defended it against the Islamic Republic so that its emirs and others can sit on their money and privileges. It, too, announced that it would open an embassy in Baghdad.

Then Kuwait, a helpless base of the harmful idiots. It recently announced its intent to open an embassy in Baghdad, but not to forgive Iraq the loans it had advanced to it to protect it from becoming a Persian principality, and their emirs Swiss citizens sitting on top of the piles and piles of money -- and piles and piles of wives.

Most recently, Egypt sent in a delegation to Baghdad to assess the same: opening an embassy. But earlier, the Prime Minister of Lebanon , Mr. Seniora, unquestionably a part of the Saudi governmental establishment, was dispatched by the Saudi secret government to Iraq. Why? To not say no to the harmful idiots and to assure the Badr/Dawa state that Saudi Arabia will soon be opening an embassy in Baghdad. The Saudi intelligence service dispatched Seniora because it didn’t want its Saudi Sunnis to see their government for what it is: a vassal of the harmful idiots, beholden to them, and following their orders at all times, even when these orders go against the limit of things.

A WAR AMONG INTELLIGENCE SERVICES AND MERCENARIES.

Where’s all of this heading? Stated repeatedly is that this “Arab” presence (soon to be) should balance Iran’s ownership of the Badr/Dawa Shia state. The more immediate benefit for the harmful idiots is to obtain Arab-speaking help – assistants – in their ongoing and soon to heat up intelligence war with Iran – when the Arab operatives and mercenaries arrive.

Which means: Expect a vicious intelligence war –- assassinations and bombings -– inside Iraq, to heat up as the Arab embassies open and the stream of Arab intelligence operatives and mercenaries settles in a la Beirut, with the Saudi Foreign Legion at the vanguard, pre-Hezbolla’s counter-attack in May of this year. Badr/Dawa likely told the harmful idiots, as it likely tells them all the time: if you can make a go of it and liberate us from Iran, we’d go your way. Otherwise, expect us to move the Badr Brigade (AKA, Iraqi Army of the South) against the sahwas and their in effect allied Arab and mostly Sunni mercenaries and intelligence operatives. Badr/Dawa should be overwhelmed and will have to re-align in full with the Islamic Republic for protection and organizational solidarity, to stay in power, and to win the coming low-intensity civil war and organized chaos.

As a corollary, expect increased financing by Iran of those parts of the Egyptian and Jordanian Muslim Brothers (the domestic opposition) who aren’t already on the Saudi payroll, and bombings in these countries should their security apparatuses fail in any fashion. (Note that the Salafis in northern Lebanon had made it clear that they follow the orders of Saad al-Hariri, AKA Saudi intelligence. Strange and weird because these guys should be intimately connected to al-Qaeda. Strange, too, and ominous: that any money given them can easily end up in Algeria or anywhere else. We seem to be returning to pre-September 11 dynamics.) Iran should be expected to spread bombing and/or political turmoil into Kuwait and the UAE should these field mercenaries for the harmful idiots.

The Sunni/Shia divide will be re-born.

THE HARMFUL IDIOTS GO ARAB.

f i r s t d r a f t

In memoriam: Mahmoud Darwish:
“Fil bali ughniyatun, Ya ukhtu 3an baladi.”

SUMMARY.

The harmful idiots are working on many fronts to manage their perceived new military domain: the Arab East. In that they’ve put to use some of the unlimited amounts of oil money which their Gulf adjutants have amassed thanks to the American consumer paying $4 per gallon for gasoline. Call it an imperial Republican tax from an oil administration -- a payoff to its friends, then a payback of some of the money to expand empire-to-nowhere. True, our lives are forever upset by financial crisis, bubbles, recession and unemployment -- but all is worthwhile to establish an empire-to-nowhere while avoiding the appearance of imposing or raising taxes.

Using U.A.E. money the harmful idiots are buying up the Peshmergas and space for bases in Kurdistan. The harmful idiots are aware that they may have to establish their lily pads in Kurdistan and not in the heart of Iraq. In Iraq, too, they’re pushing for provincial elections which they’re certain would weaken the Badr/Dawa double-agents. They’ve given up on these. Yet they’re loading the Iraqi army with huge volumes of weapons, believing that the Iraqi army will be theirs. ( I wouldn’t be so sure of this.)

Finally, the harmful idiots are trying to go Arab via Jordan, the extension of our CIA, having at last learned that the Street perceives them as allies of Israel. Surprise! As if the Street doesn’t see Jordan as servile to Israel, and anything to the contrary an act -- a ruse. (The Street calls countries like Jordan and Egypt: “countries of moderation and prostration -- al-inbita7.”) Israel retaliates by building or expanding settlements, to screw around with the harmful idiots/bureaucrats -- to remind them that, politically, they’ll never catch up with it even in Washington, D.C. Domination of the Arab East has to go through us, say the Israelis.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah seems to be boning up for a major change. It’s unclear what kind of change it’ll be. My suspicion is that Iran, feeling the heat, current and expected, will have to concede to Arab Islamists an Arab Islamic nationalist front in Iraq. This would unite Shias and Sunnis against the Kurds. One benefit of this front is that it’ll corner the harmful idiots into an anti-united Iraq role since the harmful idiots have to concede so much to the Kurds to assure their assistance. And the Kurds don’t want to be part of an Arab Iraq, Islamist or secular. Until further notice: the harmful idiots continue to try to re-invent the wheel, through their Israeli darlings’ eyes, even when they’d like to shed these.

U.A.E. MONEY TO BUY UP SPACE FOR BASES IN KURDISTAN.

It wasn’t enough that the self-hating Arab leaders of Kuwait, under the tutelage of the harmful idiots, helped entrap a fellow Arab country, Iraq, bringing about incalculable misery and shooting themselves and the other Gulf Arabs (and us!) in the foot. Now the U.A.E. is at it working to affirm Iraq’s demise as a united Arab country

Two companies of the self-hating Arab U.A.E. (United “Arab” Emirates), an adjutant of the harmful idiots, are pumping an initial investment of $ 3 billion into Iraqi Kurdistan. This investment is said to be expected to reach an estimated $ 40 billion once foreign direct investment kicks in.

You can rest assured that part of the money for the UAE project will go to bribe Kurdish leaders and assure their co-opted status. Why? Superficially, to assure that they won’t flip on the harmful idiots; but, more importantly, for space for bases and to keep their Peshmergas (AKA Iraqi army of the north) available for the harmful idiots to conduct missions inside Iraq. Be mindful that the harmful idiots accept as normal practice bribing and high corruption to achieve what in the end mostly turns out to be counter-productive and harmful goals. Hence in good part why they’re hated by the Arab Street -- the Arab public. The harmful idiots defend those who suck the blood out of their people to achieve Israel-centric goals, sophomorically thought-out. Here’s an example: The harmful idiots and their Saudi royals dispatched the late Rafiq Hariri to Lebanon (from Saudi Arabia) on the understanding that the man, a Sunni (joy of joys!), would sign a peace treaty with their Israel. The man [DELETED. SELF CENSORSHIP] ended up gobbling up any and all real estate in Beirut and outside and pocketing likely half of any public construction he himself (as Prime Minister) had initiated -- to pocket the rumored half of the cost!!! Then he established a couple of banks with the royals which advanced loans to the Lebanese government (himself) at usurious rates to construct projects for which he was pocketing probably half of the cost while making usurious interest for money he pocketed. Get it? (Refer to Najah Wakim, The Soiled Hands. (Arabic) or, better yet, talk to the Lebanese in Beirut.) And yet he failed to sign a peace treaty with the harmful idiots’ Cinderella. [DELETED. SELF-CENSORSHIP.] Wonder why the Arab Street hates the harmful idiots.

(Alternative: Go after corrupt assets like there’s no tomorrow and work for reforms to spread the wealth, all without being imperial and overbearing. Try. The money, spread among a wider middle class, should translate into demand for American products and education. Instead of 5000 students from one Arab country, you’d have 50,000 students, likely many more. People expect this from you as a super-power, not sleeping with insanely corrupt politicians devoid of genes to control their avarice and greed. )

(An acquaintance, a capitalist himself, who knows the world of Gulf capital intimately, told me once that any time large Gulf capital moves into a country, including an Arab, it automatically brings in the political leadership of the country as partner. It reels in as silent partner the “people” of the country’s leader -– her cousins, her brothers, her nephews, or her trusted advisers, with the understanding that the money would filter through to that leader. The prime ministers and presidents of the receiving country expect this practice. Gulf capital sees this as insurance for its investment and as shortcut to success in that country. Call it a variation on the Carlyle Group theme.)

The same UAE companies already have substantial ongoing projects in the nouveau Kurdish Israel. Another Emirati company, Damac Properties, on June 3, had revealed plans to build in the nouveau Israel a $16 billion multi-purpose project.

The Arab money being pumped into Iraqi Kurdistan likely isn’t purely private money. No capitalist takes a risk of this sort. That money is either mostly government money or has government assurances backing it. At any rate, the leadership of the UAE hasn’t lifted a finger to stop this flow of its money into Kurdistan. The UAE highly likely, almost certainly, is behind all the Emirati investments -- on request by the harmful idiots. Never mind that the Kurds reject an Arab Iraq. As far as the U.A.E. is concerned: the Arabs of Iraq be dammed.

The U.A.E. is an adjutant of the harmful idiots, totally under their protection, and has no choice but to follow their instructions and respect their harmfully-idiotic schemes. Be mindful that the Israeli-Minded-Break-the-Arab-Nation-Into-Little-Ethnic-And-Religious-Enclaves’ harmful idiots (“federalize” its components into smaller and smaller entities) simply love that nouveau Kurdish Israel. Where else will they go with their lily pads (the permanent bases) once the colonial management of Iraq proves to be too much to handle? It won’t help that the harmful idiots are trying to go Arab -- see below. The political culture in the United States and Europe, especially at the level of decision-making, is pro-Israel to the bone and should negate their scheme.

The harmful idiots have come to realize ( harmfully a few years late since they’re, well, idiots) that they have failed to win over the Badr/Dawa state, in spite of the tens of billions of Iraqi government money the harmful idiots control and use to blackmail that state. (What’s funny is that Congress is getting yet more impatient -- justifiably -- and is exerting pressure on them to release that money, and not only to buy humongous amounts of American weapons, which will go to an army that the harmful idiots believe/assume/are confident will be theirs (!), but to re-construct, too.) Their bag of colonialist tricks is endless. They’ve now come up with yet another brilliant idea: hold the provincial elections, assure the fairness of these, and hope that this very fairness would lead to the Badr/Dawa candidates losing big. This is bound to happen since the Badr/Dawa state can’t pay up for votes, directly or through patronage, because that state can’t access the Iraqi tens of billions the harmful idiots are holding.

The harmful idiots would hope for electoral result that would marginalize Badr/Dawa. Having gotten rid of Sadr (superficially), put the Arab Sunnis on the dole (a temporary affair), returning them to a tribal state (a temporary affair, too) and saw to it that Badr/Dawa is defeated in elections (Badr/Dawa should stage a couple of coups to dazzle the harmful idiots, such as making up with Sadr), and pumped U.A.E. money into independent Kurdistan (this newsletter has predicted eons ago that the civil war will move to the north) -- the harmful idiots would feel that they’ve cleared the political landscape to govern the colony without a hitch and prepare for war on Iran. Dreams, including imperial and colonialist, do happen.

And no one is really watching the harmful idiots’ hypocrisy, because Arabs and Muslims are stupid. For instance: Yes to fair elections in Iraq, when fairness serves the harmful idiots’ colonial schemes; no to fair elections in Palestine when these result in a win for the Islamists. Go even further: fuel a civil war in Palestine, overseen by the White House, on behalf of Israel. As if the Palestinians and the Lebanese need yet more pain to be inflicted on them by the harmful idiots and their Israelis.

The harmful idiots don’t get it: Iraqi nationalism will shed them. It’s a matter of time. They’ll be cornered in Kurdistan, fending off attacks by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). Only if Iran strikes a deal with the harmful idiots would Iraqi nationalism die for decades, and would my prediction about its unavoidable rise be dampened. Those poor Iraqis!

But in case dreams don’t happen, we have Israeli Kurdistan ready and willing to welcome our lily pads. To assure that eventuality, we’ll have self-hating Arab adjutants -- the U.A.E. -- whose God is Money, pump that God into that nouveau Israel. Just as the harmful idiots likely had assured Kuwaiti leaders that their treason against their own is well thought-out by stellar American intelligence analysts (who uttered the saying that “[A]n intelligence service is a service in stupidity?” Was that person on target!) , the U.A.E. likely is getting similar assurances.

THE POOR ARABS RESPOND.

But the non-rich have ways of responding, other than suicide bombings and like surreal violent tactics. In the Arab press, for a while now, I’ve been spotting a strange story about Israel in the heart of Iraq. About that little settler colonial harmful nuisance which has brought so much misery to the Palestinians, to the Lebanese, to the Iraqis, and to other Arabs, having control of many an Iraqi cabinet ministry. The means to having achieved that ambitious goal is said to have been the American Jewish community. In other words, the story -- based on “research” by some Babel House for Studies -- says that Jewish-American operatives of Israel, working as contractors for the various arms of the American imperial octopus, now control Iraq. This control is particularly pronounced in Iraqi Kurdistan, says the “research” by the Babel House.

I didn’t want to spend too much time on this retaliation against the colonial machinations by the harmful idiots. After all, it’s only normal to retaliate in this way when Israel’s American diaspora had played such a prominent and visible role in the dismemberment of an Arab country. Not to mention that the chiefs of the harmful idiots justified that dismemberment as necessary for Israel’s security. But I tried anyway to locate the source of the story. Don’t hold me to it: I think the story originated in Kassioun, the e-newspaper of the Syrian Communist Party. Again: don’t hold me to it. (Al-Malaf (see below) featured the story on or about August 24; al-Kifah al-Arabi did too, and so did al-Quds al-Arabi. The story spread like wild fire.)

ISRAEL: WE WON’T LET THE HARMFUL IDIOTS GO ARAB.

Have you wondered why an American general would bring up the Liberty incident?

It’s not only because the generals are worried that Israel would embroil the United States in a war not of the U.S.’s choosing or timing. Too, it’s because the harmful idiots, in their inimitable and sophomoric way, are trying to go Arab! Just an image thing, that’s all. The harmful idiots are setting themselves in an anti-Israeli mold to gain some Arab credentials. The attempt is nothing short of pathetic. Read on.

A story similar to the alleged take-over by Israel of the Iraqi ministries appeared in Al-Malaf (Highest likelihood: Jordanian intelligence) on or about August 7, 2008. ( Be mindful that Jordanian intelligence is for all practical purposes an extension of the CIA.) That story quotes an alleged report written for the White House and saying that the Israeli Mosad had played an essential role in the murder of hundreds of Iraqi scientists and professors. (I looked for that report but I didn’t find it.) Al-Malaf went all the way: along the text of the story it featured a doctored photo of the back of an Orthodox Jew facing the flag of Iraq and a map of that country. Not that I doubt for a moment that Israel’s Mosad will try to delay the rise of a modern Arab state, as it did Iraq, the moment it can, and will assassinate Arab scientists to delay that eventuality. And I don’t put it past Mosad to have entered Iraq in relatively high numbers early in the occupation, when the right wing American Jews were dancing in the streets. And I wouldn’t be surprised that Mosad, using the Iraqis and other Arabs it had nursed in the United States and Europe as traitors, did in fact murder Iraqi scientists. But I haven’t seen the report al-Malaf talked about.

The al-Malaf article and the doctored photo it featured (and the July 24 article about Israeli control of Iraqi cabinet ministries) told me that the harmful idiots have given Jordanian intelligence leeway to go after Israel -- and at times, to confirm Jordan’s Arabism, to go after U.S. practices in Iraq. But why?

I think the harmful idiots see Israel (correctly) as an obstacle on their way to total control of the Arab East and Iraq's oil. Their alliance with an Israel that is politically more powerful in the United States than they, is their Achilles’ heel. The harmful idiots are aware that the source of power for Israel no longer is its military, now that these had been twice defeated by a guerrilla army. Presently, armies have limited abilities now that the Arabs and Iranians have been closing the technology gap while mastering mass mobilization and guerrilla warfare, all at the same time. It’s no longer the peasant army of Egypt of the 1950's, armed with First World War guns, and waiting to be massacred by Israeli troops armed with the most modern weaponry. These days are over. The Israelis, as Abba Eban once gloated, are left with the U.S. Congress as their best stronghold. Too, they have the presidential campaigns and what pro-Israel people might rise through the ranks of these once an administration is formed.

The harmful idiots, not realizing their political limitations, likely think that if they can get enough of a rift between Jordan and Israel, that Congress will take Jordan’s side if only because Jordan is known as an ally and because many in Congress likely feel that the Iraq disaster wouldn’t have happened but for Israel’s people stirring for it. Not to mention that many in Congress likely feel that war with Iran is an Israeli priority, not an American, and that Israel might just embroil us in it, as it did in Iraq.

Because Israel carries powerful political cards in the U.S. Congress and the presidential campaigns. Because the harmful idiots would like to rein in Israel’s influence to help manage their Iraq Project. Appearing pro-Arab (after starving, destroying and dismembering an Arab country!) might just help, think the harmful idiots. And they’re doing it through Jordan. They want Jordan, their base, to appear as an Arab nationalist vanguard. Again: hilarious. In response, Israel taught Jordan a lesson: it returned Lebanese and Palestinian prisoners to Hezbollah yet refused to return five Jordanian prisoners to King Abdallah.

The harmful idiots don’t appreciate the fact that they’re bureaucrats and can’t face off with the political power in the United States of Israel. Israel has a hyper-mobilized community at its service; the harmful idiots don’t. The harmful idiots’ Anglos care only about pension plans, cable television, and beer. And the Arab-American community cannot be mobilized to face off with the Jewish-American lobby in good part because that lobby was so shrewd as to co-opt self-anointed Arab-American leaders. And, using allied Gulf money (the Jewish Right, during the invasion of Iraq, was dancing in the streets with some of the scared self-hating Arab leaders of the Gulf), had co-opted not a few Arab reporters. [DELETED MATERIAL. SELF-CENSORED.] Not to mention that the Arab-American community, especially the Muslim, already traumatized by September 11, witnessed their adopted country destroy an Arab country that had never meant us harm, all to assure Israel’s security. So: bye, bye, Arab-American community. The last thing an Arab-American would want is to stand up to the Israel lobby. Better immerse oneself in one’s job and family and forget politics altogether. (The ones “standing up” to that lobby are performing an act. DELETED MATERIAL. SELF-CENSORED.) Not to mention, too, that most Arab-Americans think they’re being monitored , their homes searched in their absence, their trips surveyed on highways and at every highway stop. That their cell phones have become tracking devices. They’re not paranoid. They’re realists.

No one is left to stand up to the Israelis in Washington. The bureaucrats might as well give up.

Israel continues to retaliate against the harmful idiots each and every day. When it builds or expands a settlement, it’s sending the message not to the Palestinians. These have been creamed with messages AKA endless bombings and assassinations and a civil war engineered by Elliott Abrams from the White House. By expanding settlements, Israel is torpedoing attempts by the harmful idiots to go Arab (so to speak) as a way of nudging their colonial Iraq project along. The Israelis aren’t gonna let them get away with it.

COME HEZBOLLAH.

On or about July 26, 2008, Layth Shubailat, former Dean of the Jordanian Union of Engineers and the General Coordinator of the Committee Against Normalization [of relations with Israel] and Zionism, was prominently featured in As-Safir. Visiting Lebanon, the “Islamist extremist” (so he described himself) expressed disillusionment with Iran for allowing the United States to invade Iraq. Already he was negotiating with Hezbollah. Still, it remained unclear what the purpose was of his visit to Lebanon. Three days later, on or about July 29, as-Safir reported that Hezbollah (to which the daily is close) has re-contoured its political organization to focus more on Arab relations. A week or so later, the Saudi cabinet through Ayad bin Madani, the Minister of Culture and the Media, in a seeming reversal of Saudi policy to drive a wedge between Shias and Sunnis as a way of damming Iranian power, expressed concern about the state of sectarian division in some Arab “qutrs” (the Baathist/Arab nationalist word for Arab countries -- the Saudi government now having become Baathist!), called for joint Arab action and for putting aside petty differences. A week or so earlier, from the Eastern Province of the Kingdom (majority Arab Shia), Sheikh Nimr Baqi al-Nimr, in his Friday sermon, came to Iran’s defense. He said that Iran, if attacked, would have every right to retaliate against Israel and anywhere it deems for its defense, including the closing of the Strait of Hormuz.

In retrospect, it looks like Mr. bin Madani was condemning the Saudi secret government’s policy at driving a wedge between Sunnis and Shias. This wise retreat had been long and coming, ever since the humiliating defeat dealt Saudi Arabia’s proxies in Lebanon and the evacuation of hundreds of mercenaries on the Saudi intelligence payroll (near certainty) from Beirut.

Turning a blind eye to Jordan’s anti-Israel media campaign and Saudi Arabia’s retreat from taking on the Arab Shias (and Iran) could be a way for the harmful idiots to pull the rug from underneath Iran and Hezbollah -- to block these from drawing an alliance with he Sunni Islamists. Put differently, the harmful idiots in post-Saddam and post-Nasser Arab World (both men having been eliminated by the alliance of the harmful idiots and the Israelis) , no longer have an Arab nationalist power to which the Arab masses can be drawn. Jordan is the best they have. And they seem to be giving Abdallah’s Jordan leeway to be an Arab nationalist power to suck in the hopes and dreams of the Arab Street. (I’m in tears already, though I wouldn't want to take away credit from Jordan which thought the invasion of Iraq was foolish -- or, using my words, idiotically harmful.) Hence, perhaps, the recent opening by Jordan’s intelligence services (referred to in Arabic as “the apparatus of intelligence agencies”) towards Hamas.

Hebollah’s new focus on Arab relations, announced about the same time as Shubailat’s visit, may be a sign that Hezbollah is keenly seeking an Arab Islamist alliance. The Saudi cabinet announcement and especially Jordan’s opening towards Hamas are but lame attempts to thwart this budding renewal of the alliance between the Arab Sunni Islamists and the Arab Shia ones. In the absence of an active policy to drive a wedge between Sunnis and Shias, which the Saudis found out they can ill-afford (note the Shia Sheikh Baqi al-Nimr’s sermon above), all that’s left is an attempt at luring the Arab Sunni Islamists away from Hezbollah with promises. But Jordan and the harmful idiots, in promising, run into the wall of Israel’s near weekly announcements about building a new settlement or expanding one. The harmful idiots call in for help from Washington. But Israel beats them to the punch politically even in their own capital.

How would all of this reflect onto Iraq? Already is, likely. Note the recent bombings in the north -- Tel Afar and Kirkuk. The alliance between the Sunni and Shia Islamists should translate into a policy of forging a Sunni-Shia Arab Islamic alliance in Iraq, focused on re-capturing the north of the country. This policy would have the advantage of slamming the harmful idiots into an anti-Arab corner: a colonial power lined up with the secessionist Kurds (as it is with the colonialist Israeli settlers) against a united Iraq. What’s ingenious about this stratagem is that harmful idiots are victims of their own spin about the surge, and therefore as colonialists cannot resist well that stratagem. (They shouldn’t resist; they should get out.) Historically, the harmful idiots, using Jordanian intelligence or Iraqi cooperators, would explode a car bomb (I’m speculating) against Shias in Baghdad and torpedo the evolution of an Arab Islamic nationalist front, joining Shias and Sunnis. But they can ill-afford to do that now since they’ve sold the American public the spin that the surge is responsible for the relative calm in the Iraqi capital. (Not the fact that they’ve put an entire Sunni army on the payroll, nor the fact that Iran and Syria had changed tactics to allow for enough quiet to have the harmful idiots diminish the number of troops in Iraq, nor the fact that Saudi Arabia has pumped so much money into the Sunnis to return them to a state of tribes, to quiet things down for the harmful idiots so that these can show success at home, and so on of deal-making.)

This theory of mine would be torpedoed if suicide bombers -- not car bombs –- hit at Shia gatherings. The harmful idiots and their cooperators don’t have suicide bombers; only car bombs. (Suicide bombings of Shia gatherings would mean that the attempt to form an Islamic Arab nationalist front isn’t working.)
