(The following excerpts are adapted from a much larger treatment of how the life of this author intersects with the construction of the HIGHWAY (to Central Asia.) It’s the story of how the State, through its consulting firms, insists on treating the author as an immigrant , a wog, come what may, with wog allegiances to Michel Aoun (and, by idiot-like extension, to Hezbollah) - - not as an experienced and seasoned citizen - - come what may. A wog to be handled and minded by other wogs at a church which wogs attend, rarely ever native-born aristocrats. The State and its consulting firms, you see, know that these wogs like to hang out together. The State and its consulting firms accept the word of the church-going wogs that they are friends with this wog. The consulting firm people talk to this wog’s father and assume that the wog-in-question has wog interests similar to his father’s who is concerned about the powers of the Lebanese Maronite Presidency (!) - - not that the wog-in-question in good part humors his father because he knows that when his father leaves, he will miss him immensely.)

It doesn’t matter that this wog senses strongly that the state is spreading out in sheer blindness into each and every nook and cranny between here and Central Asia. That the state is courting disaster as only an unopposed power (only at the surface) would, by accepting to be drawn into that power vacuum it had created when it had eliminated Arab Iraq. It doesn’t matter that the wog knows that this looming disaster is happening in good part because the state is spending profusely and simultaneously on both guns and butter, without any awareness of limit or limitation. That the state needs to reassess fast and cut its expenditures overseas, or force its slush fund (the Arab Gulf states) to take on more fully the financial burden of such overwhelming and expensive expansion outward of American power. Even then!

My internist, from Buffalo, asked me the same: should I stay in D.C.? She’s starting a family. My answer: Head to the Midwest. Fuck this city.

Just as the idiots can mobilize a Church against the Lebanese Maronite politician Michel Aoun, who is allied to Hezbollah, so can other parties mobilize the Muslim masses against the Christians in such places as Jordan and Egypt, portraying them as tools of the idiots. (Not in Lebanon, for now and only for now!) In other words, the effort hardly ever ends at the Lebanese borders. There’ll be a backlash for which others will pay the price. Told you before: think of the entire Arab nation as one unit. Besides, I told you before, too: almost any sect in Lebanon can veto state power - - let alone a large sect as the Shia! If Iran doesn’t fund the Lebanese Shia-as-a-unit - - and we know Syria doesn’t have the finances - - Russia would; China would. So: stop your idiocy. Try as best you can, with all the limitations nature had placed on you as idiots, to move to a different level of awareness. You’re now the de facto Ottoman-like Sultan of an entire Arab nation - - 300 million people. Double that number by adding the Muslims of Pakistan and India. What do you get? Go ahead, change their diapers, feed
them, sing for them at bedtime. Tell them they can’t ask their elite for a fairer distribution of wealth. Tell their elite that High Corruption is or is not alright. You're IT. Church immigrants/wogs will open the entire Muslim World for you, just as Mosque immigrants/wogs will open the Christian World - - just as Synagogue Jews had opened Iraq for you! A NEW PARADIGM TO DESTROY

With the above in mind, I will assert again-and-again that Hamas and Hezbollah offer a new paradigm in Arab politics - - Iran-or-no-Iran. That paradigm is the very antithesis to that offered by the Arab ruling elite. Hamas and Hezbollah offer a near-total absence of High Corruption. I’m saying this because the American state is after the two groups. One Hamas official recently revealed that former President Carter had carried a dire-and-bleak threat from the Obama Administration to Hamas. In that sense, the Obama Administration has all-but-adopted Crusader’s policies - - with one difference. It’s now applying pressure on Israel, too. But that pressure might prove not that meaningful since Israel can withstand the pressure way better than the Palestinian public. And since it’s unlikely that Israel would return to the pre-1967 borders, as it would seek major alterations of these. Such should draw terrific Palestinian counter-mobilization, grinding the process down into a stalemate.

I DON’T WANT BLOOD ON MY HANDS

The Obama Administration, by adopting the course taken by Crusader and Bald Samson, in the absence of total pullout from all Palestinian and Syrian Arab lands, to pre-1967 borders - - no changes, not even minute because these will revive irredentism - - might just end up with intra-Palestinian massacres, a civil war. This could occur (with a decent level of likelihood) when the Palestinian troops Keith Dayton is training in Jordan all return to Palestine. Palestinian blood will be blamed on the United States. I don’t want blood on my hands - - as when the idiots had unleashed their bully on Lebanon’s civilians AKA Hezbollah or on Palestinian civilians AKA Hamas. I don’t want this on my conscience.

Such is the micro-management of the HIGHWAY.

I don’t have friends at the Lebanese Church. (There are people I like, but no friends.) Only people who seek me out, sometimes in the parking lot, with their legal problems and I try my best to resolve them or refer them to competent colleagues. They would rather go to the powerful attorneys, the aristocrats, non-wog (meaning second or third generation), but these come to church only when an administration asks them to spread a word. Ditto for other aristocrats who mine the Arab wog community when it is beneficial to their image as aristocrats-connected-to-wog-communities. Or to give the illusion to their State benefactors that they are connected to wog communities. So the wogs are left with only me, a fellow wog, waiting outside to pick up his father. When my mother passed away, and young wogs carried her coffin, I the wog attorney practically ended up taking on four pro-bono cases, nearly in full. The aristocrats only come to the wog church when they need to give their administration or State benefactors the idea that they can mine a community of wogs. No more. Otherwise, they send a check.

My friends hardly ever were Lebanese church-goers. I’m aware some claim to be my friends because satellite mating is such that it can get them laid or, in the city-of-jobs, it secures their job. But I’ve rarely ever been out - - if ever - - with these fellow wogs, or to their homes, or they to mine. I park my car and wait for my father to exit the church of wogs, and we leave. Some times I head to the lower lobby so that my father doesn’t feel bad that he’s making me wait while he’s socializing. That’s the extent of it.

My friends mostly are those who went to college and grad school with me, some to law school, those associated with them, and some of the fellow attorneys I see nearly daily. These were and are my church and my congregation. I doubt that any of them attends a church with a cross or a cedar-like cross or votes in accordance with that church’s instructions.

So please cease-and-desist from wogging the hell out of me. Head to the aristocrats in that church of wogs when yet another new scheme for entrapment crosses your idiot little brain, such as needing me for fictitious and dire trouble at work. Stick to the aristocrats. The aristocrats are more like you: users of wogs. You can get tons of mileage out of them. All you’ll get out of me is the sounding of an alarm if my analysis catches a threat to the home country. (I mean the U.S. you redneck idiots.) (That’s assuming that I will continue on with this stupid blog - - unlikely.) Stop bugging me; stop wasting my time; stop believing any wog or other who tells you he/she has my wog ear. Only gorgeous and sexy women - -preferably drunk - - do. And you don’t have those. Go away. Pests.

ACHILLES HEEL: ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE IDIOTS’ HIGHWAY TO CENTRAL ASIA - - AND OTHER DISPARATE THOUGHTS

1. The HIGHWAY to Central Asia’s energy fields preferably should pass through Iran. Right? The Russians and the Chinese seem to be aware of that. The warm welcome they gave Ahmadinejad in Russia, at the recent summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization conference, tells me that the Russians are, at the very least, suspicious, but more likely aware, that the public frustrations Mousavi-the-reluctant-symbol represents, would result in the HIGHWAY passing through Iran.

2. One problem I have with this blind push for the HIGHWAY expansion is that it very possibly will be to naught. Only that we would’ve ignited civil wars (e.g., Pakistan) and brought so much misery (e.g., Iraq, Lebanon, Pakistan) onto the people who are in the HIGHWAY’s path. Each and every hope of a victory, when it doesn’t materialize, redefines America’s power downward.

2.a. Even considering the best of possibilities, from the idiots’ perspective, the fact is that all will be to naught if the home front continues to give in to myths about government’s role in business. In other words, we will need to keep industry at home, while reining in the beloved “expansion” (a nearly impossible mission) if we’re to avert a swift rise in China’s power , and that of Russia . This rise in power should result in the destruction of parts of the HIGHWAY, after having been built.

2.b One way to keep industry at home is to inject government as partner in the manufacturing and finance sectors. Government-as-partner would delay and possibly abort capital’s itch to head to grounds where production is cheapest. This while we introduce the one-hundred-million immigrants to keep production affordable t home. If we’re able to do that, then we’ll be able to keep so much of the dollars here, not resettled as the medium of seller-financing by China. Such - -seller financing - - would be China’s fastest ticket to superpower status.

2.c. But the right wing is dead-set against this option. And likely the right wing will win the day on that. Since even the left-of-center buys into the ideology that government should stay out of business come what may. Let alone be partner! Strangely, or not, we’re up to a “plus ca change...” type of change.

2.d. That is: if we get national health out of the Obama Administration, we will get all that’s gonna come our way in permanent government partnership in business. Which means that, once capital regains its free will, so to speak, and heads to China and cheapest production sites, the health sector in America will once again be one of the few expanding sectors - - in employment.

2.e. In other words, once the illusory sanctity of a private sector reasserts itself, and China re-starts its accumulation of hard currency, and oil spikes high again, both China and Russia would gain power. Accordingly, even if the HIGHWAY had reached the Central Asian states, going through Mousavi’s Iran, China and Russia can finance resource nationalism to the hilt and break our back and that of the Mousavis. The pipelines we would’ve constructed to in part rob Russia of the energy sway it has over Europe would be pumping expensive oil, or rusting-away-and-empty. Older pipelines might get revived once Russia and China are flooded with dollar-denominated accumulated reserves. The seeming antidote - - to raise production so high in Iraq and Mousavi’s Iran to cheapen oil and weaken Russia - - and/or change Russia’s “regime”- - yet again ignores resource nationalism in an idiot-like, straight-line, simpleton calculus.

2.f. All the misery we would’ve visited onto Pakistan, Iraq, Lebanon, and Palestine in civil wars and the unleashing of the idiots’ beloved bully, would’ve been (practically) to naught.

2.g. By way of conclusion: Result-oriented foreign policy and protecting America’s power starts and ends at home. Not in Iran, nor in Pakistan. I understand that the idiots are functionally-specific foreign policy idiots and can’t help much on the home front. They have to spin their wheels come what may. They’ve been spinning these wheels to build the HIGHWAY ever since the 1970s. Some progress.

3. I read that Lebanon’s banks now have over $80 billion in deposits. Most say it’s the money of the immigrants. I doubt it. I think the larger part of that money comes from Iran. As I mentioned a while ago, Iran likely had floated the Lebanese state when the puffing Saudis pulled out. Iran deems its money safe in Lebanon. Iran has Hezbollah and the Shia - - should anyone dare have ideas. Iran is forcing partnership on the idiots both in Lebanon and in Iraq. Floating the Lebanese state is part of that smart scheme.


4. Someone should thank for me former President Carter for being way ahead of all. Any amongst us should be that sharp, courageous, and forward-looking at his age.


5. America needs to go back to its genius: technology. The oil paradigm’s nothing but misery.

ON THE WAY TO CENTRAL ASIA’S ENERGY FIELDS: REALISM, PARTNERSHIPS AND IDIOT-RELUCTANT MICRO-MANAGEMENT IN THE ARAB NATION AND ON ITS PERIPHERY

NOTES::

1. 6/17/09 - - Experience has taught Arabs and Muslims to know, with certainty, that U.S. foreign policy in the Arab nation and the Islamic World is one-and-the-same as Israel's. To Arabs, the invasion and dismantlement of Arab Iraq proved the point beyond a doubt. Not only did the idea to invade seem to originate with America's Jewish Right, with Jewish liberal support. But the armies of those who wanted to set up the new government in Iraq seemed, too, to be of the same origin and of those allied to that Israel-obsessed ethnic right wing.

So Arab friends and aquaintances rejected my hypothesis, outlined in this essay, that the idiots-reluctant are in fact trying to forge for themselves in the Arab nation and the Muslim World a foreign policy that is independent of Israel. In retrospect, their skepticism and incredulity, grounded in history, was tantamount to perceiving the change, if any, as a passing matter. To some, my hypothesis confirmed to them only that the Obama Administration is trying to breathe new life into the harmful idiots' campaign to destroy-the-Arabs-and-their-identity. That nothing in fact has changed. The only difference, these claimed, was that the idiots-reluctant have asked the Israeli boys to take a back seat - - temporarily. A ruse, really.

It's only with this in mind that I understand the call by former President Carter on the idiots to speak to Hamas. (This blog has called for that a while ago.) President Carter is thinking ahead: don't go half-way, he seems to be saying. Go all the way. President Carter likely knows about the HIGHWAY our idiots are trying to construct to the energy-rich Central Asian states to, among other things, rob Russia of its ability to have such sway over Europe. The former President wanted the idiots to be ahead in the game.

But no Arab (justifiably) will expect the United States to go all the way. (Nor should the good former President.) If only because the idiots' own "Arab allies," don't want Hamas - - a vanguard of the non-corrupt Arab opposition and Islamic Arab nationalism - - or the likes of Hamas to replace them as the recipients of the idiots' largesse and of the largesse of the idiots' Arab Bank/slush fund - - the Arab protectorates of the Gulf. These "Arab allies" want to be the Arab rest stop on the HIGHWAY, not Hamas and its ilk.

I tried to explain that the idiots' delivery to Hezbollah, directly or through French intelligence, of Israel's spy network in Lebanon is terrific evidence that the idiots don't want Arabs to associate them with the Israelis. Their retort: it's Israeli propaganda, blaming the U.S. and France for the fact that likely Iran had helped the Lebanese state gather up Israel's spies.

They could be right. I give up.


2. Please be mindful that I tend to want to make things exciting for the reader. Which, at times, ends up looking like all is a zero-sum game. In the following analysis, you should be aware that the triumphal plans by Crusader, Bald Samson, and the Israel Realm Choir may have become dead - - for a great while. The Pentagon, I would think, post-dismantlement of an Arab country and having shed the Israel-realm ideologues, is likely the most realist of all the government agencies. It should know its limitations better than any other. With the hope, of course, that the Pentagon has advisers who understand their own country - - its finances and its trade wars, foremost - - and are able to decipher foreign policy with that in mind.

That said, it could be that the plans of the idiots-reluctant are more modest than I portray them. At this stage, it could be that what they want, first and foremost, is to return to a modicum of stability after the above-mentioned team, mediocre and reckless in the extreme, had so miscalculated.

What I'm asking you to do is to act as my Editor and add a few grains of salt to what you read here. With the limited time I have, I cannot be as thorough as a team of analysts. Suffice it to say that, when you read about Iran and Russia and others - - it behooves you to think that these actors cannot trust the United States under this-or-that administration. If only because a version of the harmful idiots might make a come-back. (I can sniff them rallying under the . . . yes, Virginia, the Netanyahu flag!) Acordingly, whatever deal these foreign actors will seek from the United States likely will include substantial and material assurances about the future.

ABSURD EVENTS AS CLUES TO THE IDIOTS-RELUCTANT'S MIND

Some occurrences at first look absurd. But upon some mulling over, these same absurdities become sign posts that tell us about the thinking of the idiots-reluctant as these pave THE HIGHWAY to the Central Asian energy fields - - a highway which passes through the Arab nation, now shattered, but itself energy-rich.

Take for example the equipping and training by the idiots-reluctant of Iraq’s army; and take their plans to arm Lebanon’s. In both cases the idiots-reluctant should be arming forces that are open to Iran. Absurd, right?

ONE INTERPRETATION FOR THE ABSURDITIES

One interpretation would be that the idiots-reluctant, sooner-or-later, will finish the Islamic Republic by-war-or-by-blockade or, believe it or not, by opening up to it as they're currently doing. At that time, as a result, this thinking would go, the idiots-reluctant would own Lebanon and Iraq - - with the Shia and opposition forces in both places having lost their government of reference, the Islamic Republic. The HIGHWAY would be that much wider and should include as a rest stop Iraq’s energy fields. Maybe even Iran’s, too. In other words: forget resource nationalism.

This strategy makes sense only if among other things (e.g., resource nationalism) the financial realities play along. In other words, if the country of the idiots-reluctant (our tortured HIGHWAY builder) prints a lot of money, energy prices would go up in dollar terms. As a consequence, too, Iran and Russia would become more rich (in dollar terms), which would give them the wherewithal to to fight off much better the construction of that HIGHWAY.

In contrast, perhaps, if the country of the idiots-reluctant prints less money, it’ll have domestic turmoil; printing less money, too, would delay the expansion of the tax base by bringing in less immigrants; and that - - tighter economic growth, tighter expansion, and tighter tax base to take on the burden of the nearly 80 million aging baby-boomers - - would force the lowering of expenditure on “wars” and would force the idiots-reluctant to return home the troops. There’s a balance somewhere between the two financial scenarios where there’s enough of an injection of immigrants to widen the tax base and a modicum of a revival of the economy to support the expansion of the HIGHWAY.

In periods of financial distress, the idiots can rely on their Arab BANK, the Arab Gulf countries, for continued funding of work on the HIGHWAY. The Arab Gulf protectorates do act as the BANK for the idiots, both harmful and reluctant, where an indirect oil tax is imposed on the not-that-far-off-to-be-one-billion hard-working ants. This Bank’s coffers are filled when oil prices spike and dollars are transferred automatically to the coffers. The idiots use these deposits - - a slush fund - - to consolidate the perceived gains made by the idiots, be they harmful or reluctant, in the construction of the HIGHWAY.

Consider, for instance, all the “investments” being made by the U.A.E. in the nation-state of Iraqi Kurdistan. In this perspective, and perhaps in the one that follows, too, the idiots’ U.A.E. Branch of the BANK is buttressing the idiots’ earlier “achievement” in securing and widening the HIGHWAY in its energy rich Iraqi stretch - - specifically: in the Kurdish part of the Iraqi Plantation - - the nation-state of Iraqi Kurdistan. Soon, the realistic hope is, the HIGHWAY should encompass the Iranian stretch. We’re almost there: at one end of the energy-rich Caspian Sea Basin. Not far off, in Pakistan, we don’t need a clear victory there; only an endemic civil war that keeps the Taliban preoccupied while we “secure” the Afghani part of the HIGHWAY - -this time to sit atop the Hindu Kush where we can monitor our competitors - -the military (Russia) and the mercantile (China) - - the latter, the bastards, refusing to buy from us the amounts we buy from them.

While this interpretation speaks to one part of what’s on the idiots-reluctant’s mind, it doesn’t provide the full picture. The section that follows somewhat completes the mapping of the idiots-reluctant’s strategy and shows the species to be more cunning than its genus’s name (IDIOTSRELUCTANAMUS) conveys. In other words, the interpretation that follows complements the one outlined above.


THE SECOND INTERPRETATION: THE REALITY IS STUNNING REALISM

I’ll put it bluntly: the construction of the HIGHWAY doesn’t require the elimination of the Islamic Republic and is eminently delayed by non-acceptance of the Islamic Republic-as-Islamic Republic. (Times might change and the idiots might once again go triumphal. But it won’t be soon. And there's the complication that the Islamic Republic’s leadership likely considers a lot of what’s coming out of the idiots-reluctant capital as a ruse.) For now, however, the idiots-reluctant seem to have truly turned the corner, even willing to invite the Iranian Islamists to the July 4th celebration at U.S. consulates worldwide. They’re sending out the signals loud-and-clear that they love the Islamic Republic. A ruse? We’ll have to wait-and-see.

The idiots-reluctant don’t want to say it too clearly lest they upset the digestive system of their “Arab allies.” For there likely has occurred a genuine psychological shift towards the Islamic Republic - - this, even if one accounts for the probability of ruse-and-scheme production by the idiots-reluctant. As this newsletter has repeatedly outlined: the Islamic Republic, post-invasion and dismantlement of Arab Iraq, has learned to devise a self-disintegration defense to any war on it ordered by the idiots.

At any rate, the idiots-reluctant are getting mileage out of their newfound disposition towards the Islamic Republic. At a minimum, the idiots-reluctant are using their newfound psychological shift/willingness to accept the Islamic Republic-as-Islamic Republic as a tool to obtain concessions from their Beloved Nuisance on the issue of the Palestinian state. They’ve already made up their mind, likely under Crusader, post-dismantlement-of-Arab-Iraq, that they can work with the Islamic Republic.

The Islamic Republic will now have to chose: bargain with the idiots-reluctant for a better regional position in the new relationship; or bleed the idiots-reluctant with the hope that their bankruptcy becomes yet more acute. That likely would force them to cut down on “war” spending and retreat the troops from Afghanistan and Iraq. Or somewhere in-between since neither Iran nor Russia may want to see total failure by a willing police - - the idiots reluctant - - in Afghanistan. The calculus is complicated and is beyond the capacity of this author.

The Islamic Republic most certainly feels a fondness towards the United States; its young students do. Its young students want to be part of the not-far-off-to-be one-billion nation and take on the burden of the aging baby-boomers. The zeal they have. So, a part of the Iranian Islamists’s thinking - - if only because they’re aware of their young’s wish to have a lot of sex in the United States - - is accepting of partnership with the idiots-reluctant, so long as the Islamist elite isn’t made to play second fiddle to the Israeli colonialists. So long as the strategy of the idiots-reluctant isn’t one-and-the-same as Israel’s. That wish might very well have become the idiots's command.

The Islamic elite wants Iran to be the Center and the Arab nation a part of the hinterland; the Israeli elite wants their Israel (colonial settlements and all) to be the Center, and the Arab nation the hinterland.

What’s really significant isn’t so much the de facto partnership with Iran. Or, more precisely, the psychological readiness to work with the Islamic Republic-as-Islamic Republic. It is the fact that ever since I’ve been looking at this, it now seems certain that the idiots-reluctant are snubbing their Beloved - - and way more than it appears at the surface! They’re really screwing around with it; they’re really are. To the point of having accepted an alliance-of-convenience with Hezbollah.

Ehud Barak complains about the U.S. supplying weapons to the Lebanese army - - that these weapons might end up in the hands of Hezbollah. So what, say the idiots-reluctant. Why don’t you wake up and smell the coffee? Don’t you get it: Until such time as you - - the Israelis - - do what we ask you to do, which happens to be the right thing - - to cease-and-desist from settling in other people’s lands - - we will not give a hoot whether our weapons end up in Hezbollah’s hands. Until then, we’ll use doublespeak about how much we care about Israel, which we know you like to hear. We’ll do that - - screw around with you while doublespeaking - - until you stop delaying our construction of the HIGHWAY - - a national security priority.

I love it. The idiots-reluctant are on to something. (Warning: My loving it doesn’t mean they will succeed. The details are many and the devil is in the . . . right?) Yes, we’ll include a few symbolic Jews who are extremely fond of Israel and who happen to possess security clearances (e.g., Ross, Levey) in this administration. We’ll say that they're helping the President understand Israel from the inside, so to speak, making them the Jewish fall guys for the new realism. We’ll even unleash these on Iran and other such projects. But don’t you see it: these symbolic Jews are essential for the doublespeak (and therefore the actual policy) to work. Ingenious! When I grow up, I want to be an idiot-reluctant.

We et/ou France - - c’est pas tres important- - (We allow France to do brisk business - - e.g., the U.A.E. - - in exchange for helping us out) will even screw around with the Beloved Nuisance by supplying the Lebanese security forces with the technological ability to unfold the extensive spy network of the Beloved Nuisance in Lebanon - - to the delight of Hezbollah. Because we are allies of convenience with Hezbollah, can’t you see?

Better yet: the idiots-reluctant are playing the same double-peak game on their “Arab allies.” “We will not settle affairs with Iran on the back of our Arab allies.” What does that mean? Nothing. [Oops: it does mean in essence that the idiots-reluctant will not leave Iraq. Period. Unless, of course, they reach an agreement with the Islamic Republic.] The Arab allies have to eat it. They eat shit every day and excrete gold. The Vice President heads to Lebanon to assure that his “allies” win that election. But, can’t you see, he wouldn’t have gone there had he not been assured that his allies in fact would win. Why would he risk eating away at the Obama Administration’s foreign policy aura by so visibly investing politcial capital in the Lebanese elections and end up losing these? In other words: it's my submission here that the Vice President had been assured of the win. And not by our “allies” in Lebanon. But by Hezbollah itself!

We made a payment to Hezbollah and Iran in exchange for giving the Obama Admnistration a “win” in Lebanon. The payment: we, directly or through France, helped that part of the Lebanese state that's in tune with Hezbollah nab Israel’s extensive spy network in that country. We did it likely to send yet another message to the Israelis that the idiots-reluctant can side-step the Israelis’ fortress: the U.S. Congress. We can do it, and did it, either directly or by winking at French intelligence.

To complicate matters: if in fact the U.S., directly or through France, delivered the Israeli spies in effect to Hezbollah, then such should carry many a message to the Arabs who Crusader/Bald Samson/the harmful idiots had encouraged to work with-and-for the Israelis. The messages:

(1) the U.S. will deliver Israel's Arab spies to the opposition (e.g., Hezbollah) or to the Arab governments when such serves the purpose of increasing the pressure on Israel to deliver on the Palestinian state; which means:

(2) you all should know that spying for Israel isn't tantamount to helping out the U.S. All should now make the effort to learn the new reality: the United States doesn't do Israel's bidding; and

(3) that message should be food-for-thought for all those Arabs who had visited Israel during and before Crusader's rule and schemed against Hezbollah and Iran. The U.S. is declaring its independence from Israel. Don't expect any protection from us.

Hezbollah allowed the U.S. Lebanese proxies to win the elections. Iran restrained itself and decided not to match the idiots-reluctant’s payments, through their BANK's Saudi branch, to buy up votes. Not because Iran couldn’t afford it. Lebanon is small enough that nearly any large country can afford to buy it out - - but without its $50 bn said debt. It’s because Hezbollah and Iran had accepted the terms of the deal: we deliver Isreal’s spy network to you and you give us an electoral “victory” in Lebanon. But don’t you dare try to disarm Hezbollah, warn the Iranians. We the idiots will not since we, too, need Hezbollah. (See below.) But you’ll understand that we’ll use doublespeak to say we want to disarm it.

To Iran: we understand that Hezbollah is your insurance policy against an Israeli attack on your nuclear sites. It’s our insurance policy, too, for the same. We don’t want Israel to attack these sites either and enmesh us in yet another unnecessary war. So Hezbollah serves our purposes, too.

Truly ingenious.

I’m not dreaming up plots here. I’m telling you: the idiots-reluctant are on to something: THEY HAVE MADE UP THEIR MIND: the Islamic Republic is alright - - preferably not with Ahmadinejad - - right? But as Islamic Republic nonetheless. We can partner with it in the region, but we will use doublespeak to speak otherwise, so to speak. (Sorry.)

Since I don’t have an editor I can let my pen roam. So don’t rely on my analysis, especially on financial matters and, as in the piece below, political economy matters. Enjoy!

NOTE:

Some approach me with veiled requests to have this newsletter lean this-or-that way. I’m old enough to judge that my forte - - and this blog’s - - is independent analysis. For instance, I’m a big fan of President Obama. But that will not influence my assessment of his team’s U.S. foreign policy. If you look to your right on the screen you’d have a fairly clear idea about my background. I’ve forfeited a couple of plum job opportunities to continue on with this newsletter, and have voiced false excuses to do the same. With that in mind, I and this blog shall remain independent.

THE BIG PICTURE: SCUTTLING CHINA’S COURSE TO SUPERPOWER STATUS

ZEI: The big picture first.

SPC: The Strategists are waiting on China to spend its $2 trillion in foreign reserves, to clip it to size as not-a-superpower - - not yet, anyway. Had the financial meltdown not taken place, the two trillion in foreign currency reserves would’ve become four, and China would’ve become a superpower.

Z: How long will it take for China to spend the $2 trillion?

SPC: I have no idea. But I bet you the Strategists are thinking through the same question.

Z: Are we at war with China?

SPC: No. Not really. We’re competitors for control-of-and-access-to-oil-and-gas-and-pipelines. But, with the financial meltdown and its repercussions, I have a mild suspicion - - and it’s only a mild suspicion - - that the Chinese are so angry at us that they’ve unleashed their brat - - North Korea. Desperation and sheer anger. They likely suspect that Greenspan and Crusader were working in cahoots to bring down the temple - - engineer a recession, that is - - and deny the Chinese superpower status. (That wouldn't be the work of Greenspan and Crusader; that would be the work of the Strategists. Greenspan and Crusader were only acting out the roles.)

(I, too, strongly suspect that Crusader’s profligate spending-on-an-oil-grab-he-called-war-without-taxing was orchestrated with Alan Greenspan - - orchestrated by the Strategists. Mr Greenspan’s role in this was to turn a blind eye to the coming meltdown set off by the sub-prime mortgage schemes. In other words, the Strategists had the two men do what they did with the idea of setting off a recession at home to cut short China’s ascent to superpower status.)

The anger of the Chinese likely is fueled by yet more suspicion - - that the Strategists will bring up short-term interest rates to something higher than that paid by the ten-year notes the Chinese hold, lowering the value of their Treasury Notes and speeding up as a consequence the thinning of their reserves.

THE NO-PLAN: PLAY FINANCIAL ACROBATICS

Z: Do the Strategists have a plan?

SPC: I don’t see one. It could be that now that the federal government owns so much of private industry and banks - - which lend money to these - - it could be that the new paradigm will be one where the federal government-as-majority-owner-of-industry-and-banks will force management to keep manufacturing n the United States - - to prevent manufacturing from moving to China.

I’m unclear as to how this fits in with the rules of the ITO. (I know little about it.) But China and the other export-driven industrial economies (e.g., Germany) can’t complain since they would hope that the U.S. would cross that undefined threshold beyond the crisis (a threshold defined in part by the Strategists) - - and only then would they complain. For now, all they can do is pray that the U.S. comes out of this fast and re-starts the much-adored expansion towards the one-billion population mark (see below) and the concomitant blind and voracious construction and consumption.

In the medium term, it’ll be extremely difficult to compete with China. China has hundreds of millions of people who are either waiting to enter the manufacturing sector or are in it but not in full. In the long term, they’ll be ahead of us on that - - cheaper production costs, that is - - no question about it. Unless we reach one billion in population fairly fast, which is unrealistic. So, in essenve, what the Strategists are doing is ad hoc, episodically temporary, with no certainty.

What’s odd about this financial crisis is that the players have now learned their lesson, more so than they had learned it from the Asian crisis years ago. (Was it in 1997?) All now should be stashing away reserves and gold, while awaiting the next American financial meltdown, engineered by the strategists. But here, they may not be fully successful because - -

Z: Because?

SPC: Because the strategists will raise the short-term interest rates so high - - high enough not to syphon off money out of the stock market, but certainly higher than the interest paid by ten-year notes - - that a majority of the money will find its way to this country’s Treasury notes, short-term this time, not the ten-year notes, and would quit (maybe not fully since they'd need to stash away) such investments as gold and other metals and oil. The ten-year notes will be next-to-worthless, for a while.

Still, the Chinese model will endure: stash away as much as you can - - at whatever rate - - while awaiting the next financial meltdown.

USA. POPULATION: ONE BILLION

Z: So the dollar isn’t dead.

SPC: It’s not. I suspect that a good part of what underlies the dollar’s strength in the long term - - a factor which customarily goes unstated - - is the fact that this country is heading towards a population of one billion- plus. Think about all the construction and the consumption! This country has its own reasons to add to its population: it forever needs a working tax base that is wider than that part of the population which is aging (think of a pyramid) which needs the money from taxes to attend to its old age as it quits the work force. My father recently returned from Australia, brought there by his siblings, and was awed by the fact that Sydney was so chock full of immigrants. As he walked street-upon-street in the city and outside, he would see very large numbers of Chinese immigrants and , in lesser numbers, but large nonetheless, Indian and Pakistani immigrants. (His generation of relatives, including his brothers and sisters, in Australia, are themselves Lebanese immigrants.)


The Australian, Canadian, and U.S. models of capitalism cannot survive without expansion. Iraq has shown that expansion overseas isn’t as feasible as first dreamt. The cost certainly has outweighed the benefit. (France is collecting the benefits, but that’s to be expected since France had been there before Crusader had acted on Bald Samson AKA Israel’s Boys’ pestering to invade. And, my hat off to Sarkozi - - since he hyper-actively markets France under the NATO umbrella. ) Meaning: the hope to gobble up Iraq and its oil-and-gas-and-population didn’t work according to the plans drawn by the right-wing boys of the Diaspora. Safer bet: expansion at home.

I can almost see the one-billion.
